I always buy my tires with this deal, as each tire is over $200. So four separate transactions and 4x $50 cards back

So you can technically buy $200 stuff and then return it and get the 50 promo card for free?

Absolutely not, the card rings up on the receipt, unless the cashier completely blunders and doesn’t see it you may get lucky.

Pretty sure it has been done many times before. At very minimum, I'd imagine you'd get the $200 worth of stuff put back on a refund card.

Are these refund cards the same as gift cards? I remember someone saying that REFUND cards expire while gift cards do not.

Here's the fine print once u make a purchase
Eligible customers who on Dec 2, 2019 between 12:00 am EST and 11:59 pm local time have spent $200 or more before taxes and fees will have a $50 promo card mailed to their billing address. The promo card will be redeemable in-store only between January 11 and February 6, 2020. Customers who cancel or return part or all of their order, which results in their total invoice falling below $200 before taxes and fees will no longer be eligible to receive a promo card. Please note, in the event of a postal disruption the delivery of the promo card may be delayed. Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited reserves the right to adjust promo card valid dates (as necessary) in the event of a postal disruption

Their payment processor having issues, been trying to checkout second order for 30 mins

It’s not a gift card. It’s a promo card which has an expiry date

Exactly what I was thinking when I ordered a set of tires in two separate orders.

I'll buy online and pick up in store. Would the promo card be sent to me or picked up in the store?

I saw the thread too but I couldn’t find it in the flyer and my local CT weren’t aware of it either :(.
