[Canadian Tire] Celestron Elements ThermoCharge Hand Warmer/USB Power Bank

I noticed Canadian Tire had these in their fall catalog of outdoor items. They're very slowly coming in to stock at my local stores - seems like the shipments arrived very late as the outdoors catalog came out last month.

The price seems right - similar ones from the same brand are $59.99-$69.99 at MEC. Generic Chinese ones on Amazon are priced higher than this one.

This hand warmer definitely looks durable, but not so comfortable to carry and hold, maybe. Charges via mini-USB. I stopped using those cables years ago, except for the odd old device that still needs it. That's enough of a dealbreaker for me, would rather not have to carry an extra cable just for this one device.

I've heard bad things about this in my astronomy circles.

Hell, even my other celestron products have been pretty cheaply made (red flashlight, battery pack, etc )

The mini USB charging is sketchy AF. It does include a pouch so you can keep the supplied cable with the hand warmer!

Gets an F on fakespot though.

Normally before buying anything at CT I search amazon - I liked the looks of this one over the amazon offerings.

I have an identical one with a different brand, that i bought a year ago. in the teal color. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Kept my hands warm. Although at -30 or colder it doesn't really make a difference.
