You can get a rechargeable one with similar or better specs from Amazon for the same price.

True, I did that. However the strap is so tight on the max setting that I can't wear it beyond 5min. I'm a Medium in hats/helmets so no idea who this strap is made for. 'Asian fit' maybe?

To use the headlamp in the OP, you should use rechargeable AAA batteries. It's not economical to use non-rechargeable ones.

The advantage of using AAA batteries is you can put in another set of batteries and when the batteries run out. If the headlamp has non-removable battery, you would need to wait for it to be charged.

Thanks OP, having removeable batteries make this a good candidate for an emergency device, simply pop in new batteries and away you go, as opposed to waiting for a charge (or in the event of power outage, having fewer opportunities to recharge). Rechargeable have a better use case for every day use, where for emergency i like the ability to just pop in a set of batteries and no 100% I will have juice .

Energizer headlamp should be quite comfortable to wear. The one in the OP is very well-reviewed.

I bought the old version of Vision HD+ about 3 years ago for $25 and have been using it quite regularly.
