These are simple adapters for converting the light socket to 2-prong outlets, similar to Wizard1's post above but without the pull chain. The other option is to rewire the ceiling box to outlets and use a round outlet cover.
Lamp socket to single outlet adapter $3.79 @ CT, low profile if you are adding just a single plug-in light fixture
Lamp socket to dual outlets adapter $4.99 @ CT

Update: Found out that the adapters are meant for temporary use only. For those familiar with the electrical code, is this allowed for "semi-permanent (you can simply remove the adapters)" use of the strip lights plugged into the garage ceiling light socket?
Probably a risk-of-overheating distinction. LED lights draw so little current and produce such little heat that I can't imagine any reason not to use the adapters

Probably so they can't get sued. Why even use an adapter?? Why don't you just cut the end of the plug off and hard wire right inside box??

Not sure if that will be up to code, I'll just replace the lampholder with outlets

they're not daisy chainable, even hard wired you still have to run the cable, i tried to take one apart, first of all they are glued, second there's an LED driver board at the cord end, so i assume they're actually low voltage lights with a step down/converter, so you cant just add on to the end... if they were chainable they'd be perfect
What are you going to do with six of them if you can't daisy chain them? Do you have 6 outlets in close proximity? Or do you just have a lot of spaces that need light throughout the home?

Cool white, not as blue as 5000k daylight, perfect I'd say for garage lightning.

i am not using them all in the same place, but you could put a power bar in and get 4 hooked in a line off that one power bar, 4 ft leds with 5 foot cord.

Thanks OP, PMed with Homedepot, it's 14.99 here in Winnipeg, and there was still some stock in some Canadian Tire stores so I was able to Pricematch with Homedepot who has lots of stock... HD only gave 10% off so the total was $13.49 each + tax

A little low for vegetating growth, a little high for flowering. For an all around it would be fine.

Picked up 10 for our new shop. So nicely engineered to remove anything unnecessary and keep it as simple as possible. $15 (BC) is a bargain. Light output is surprisingly high, far more than 1850 lumens at a guess, and pretty even.

Thanks OP

There's a simple switch on the cord
