[Canadian Tire] Greenworks 60V Lawn Mower/String Trimmer Combo Kit $499.99

Edit: 25X CT money has been removed by CT, as of 25 Apr

I am eyeing Greenworks cordless mower/trimmer for a while. This week CT has a deal. It has been reflected in this week's flyer as a special buy. Price reduced from $549.99 to $499.99. In store purchase only (sorry, no Masterpass $25 GF).

This morning, to my surprise, I notice it has an additional 25X CT money bonus (=15% off). It offers further discount at about 70 CT money. So the final price would be 499.99 + tax + EHF - 70 (CT money). A good price to me (ard $500 after tax in BC) considering two powerful pro products.

FEATURES
  • Greenworks 60V Lawn Mower/String Trimmer Combo Kit includes a 17'' (43 cm) lawn mower and a 14'' (35.5 cm) string trimmer
  • Lawn Mower - 17" deck is versatile and light weight, 2-in-1 feature offers rear bagging and mulching capability for multiple use; single lever 5-position height adjustment offers cutting height range from 1-1/4" to 3-3/8"
  • String Trimmer - 14" cutting path, high/low speed selector and variable speed trigger, dual 0.080" twisted line with convenient bump and feed head, convenient push button start

Thoughts:
- It has only ONE 4Ah Lithium-ion battery shared by the two. Pros and Cons. Costco 80V pro combo offers 2 x 2Ah Lithium-ion batteries, so each tool gets its own battery. However, they are 2Ah batteries not 4Ah. A video showing why 4Ah could be better performance than 2 x 2Ah Lithium-ion batteries, time use wise.
for comparison, 60V 4Ah has 214wh and 80V 2Ah has 144wh.
- For whose who are not familiar with Greenworks 60V pro line, it is considered as a model between popular 40V and 80V lines. Someone call it Lowes line since it is produced specifically to Lowes in US. It offers better choice who may need more powerful tools than 40V line but not as high as 80V. https://www.greenworkstools.ca/en/categ ... v-cordless
- FYI. Costco has the 80V pro combo at 699.99 (sometimes Costco offer 100 off deal) https://www.costco.ca/greenworks-pro-21 ... 04517.html

17" is very narrow, so for small yards imo.

17" is okay for medium size yard. But one battery will limit two tools use within a small to medium size yard. Costco combo should be better for large one though.

It will make the deal even better. But for my case, it does not allow me to place order online. I even phone the store with no luck. Did you get 25x CT$ when you pay through masterpass?

I can confirm it is one battery. I bought the combo and used it on my yard. Not bad you will get about 40-45mins battery use.

FYI Greenworks 60V 2.5Ah Replacement Battery is at $199.99 so far. https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/gree ... p.html#srp. I am also searching for some 3rd party replacement.

I'm very tempted to buy this mower but not sure if it has enough run time for my yard. What do you consider as a medium vs large yard? I'm in a double car garage house on a 38x100ft lot.

I would say your lot is not huge. The run time, in theory,Greenworks Lithium Cordless Lawn Mower is great for urban properties and can cut for up to 60 minutes on a single 60V 4.0Ah lithium battery. So 40-45mins is highly possible in reality. But I also hear the story of <10mins cut time when the lawn is wet. So it depends. Always two battery better than one.

I think I'm going to pick this combo up and retire the gas tools.

Any luck with the 3rd party batteries?

The 60v line seems pretty new in Canada. I'm hoping we will get more battery options coming up.

lowes.com has lots of 60v greenworks gear including the 60v 5.0Ah battery for $199 USD if anyone has American friends.

So far I am quite happy with the battery and I am able to cut the front and back yard with both tools in about 40mins. Will monitor the battery price (hope there is a promotion) or even consider buying other 60v line products in the future (cordless is so convenient and this is the other way to share batteries among tools).

It is a special buy. When I checked it out in store, even CT staff had no idea of 25X CT Money. My guess is the 25X CT money comes with the combo as long as you buy it with CT triangle master card? Better phone CT to confirm it.

Completed my online order for in store pick up today. $70 in CT money was on the receipt ($20 regular + $50 bonus), hopefully masterpass will come through as well.

Thanks again.

Do you see the $70 in your triangle app? Mine only shows a $50 reward on the purchase.

Just purchased as well and I only see $52, $2 regular and $50 bonus. Maybe he used a CT master card to get the extra points.

Somehow I was not allowed to place the order online. I went to the store and checked it out with my CT triangle CC. $70 CT money is reflected in the receipt.
