[Canadian Tire] HOT - Mastercraft 12 Gauge (15AMP) - 50-ft Outdoor Extension Cord - 38$ (Reg 83$)

EDIT: I thought 12 Gauge was 20AMP, it is in fact 15AMP on their website.

Was looking for a 50ft outdoor extension cord for my Walmart 80$ Snow Joe Blower (thanks RFD). Standard 16 gauge is only 10amps, so needed to look at a 14 or less gauge cord. Most cords like this are usually 50$ or more, up to 100$ for a 50 footer. 12 gauge usually costs more.

Canadian Tire could have an error on their site.

Their Mastercraft 25Ft 12 Gauge, is 39$ instead of 60$. Pretty good...BUT in the option if you select the 15.24M (50FT) cord it shows at 38$ instead of 83$ while still showing the 25Ft in the description.

The product code is #052-2320-2. Went to pick one up today, and even the associate was a little surprised but didn't hassle the purchase.

Stocktrack has them in stock, and at that price too.

Lastly, there's a Triangle App offer for 7$ back on a 30$ purchase and a 10X points offer for extension cords.

i assume this cord is relatively inflexible since its 12gauge right? Also it says 15a on the website.

It's just as flexible as other cords.

It's more rigid, but still flexible. You're right about the 15AMP, just fixed it, read somewhere that 12 Gauge was 20A. Thanks.

Though this is 12ga it is still only rated for 15a based on the connectors. The higher gauge does however allow for less voltage drop over a longer distance.

How cold weather have you used it? I have an 15 year old master craft 14 gauge that freezes stiff when I have to use the electric snow blower in -10 temps

Cool. Just note...this 100' model has 3 outlets, and you might not be able to plug in some snowblowers or lawnmowers based on how the plug is designed.

Stupid question... but what's the difference between this 50ft 12ga./15A and another identical but 14ga.?

They still providing 115V 15A... just for heat dissipation?

The plug looks the same as the single outlet just fanned out. Do you know what type wouldn’t fit? Thx

Lol any tool you want to plug directly to. Many lawnmowers, trimmers, snowblowers have a round plastic shroud going around the male end. You wouldn’t want to plug an additional cord from tool to this 3 outlet extension.

Oh yeah I didn’t think of that makes sense. I guess worst case I could plug a 1 foot extension in.
