[Canadian Tire] Mastercraft Metal Sawhorse - $19.99

Was shopping in my local Canadian Tire (Hamilton Ontario) and noticed these metal sawhorses were on sale for 19.99 in store. Unfortunately didn't take a photo at the time but they were in a middle aisle, probably 150 of them stacked up.

Stocktrack still shows them for 79.99 but the reviews are good and seemed like a good deal a 19.99. I bought two.

These are very good. I got one last year for $10 each. These often go on sale at CT for $19.99. Still a good buy at $19.99

I also have two. I think I got them for $20 each. They’re good in that you can fold them away, but they’re not the most stable. Good enough for my purposes.

I agree. I have 2 I got two for about $10 each. They're ok for occasional use since they store very well but not super stable. The feet are fairly close together so they can be tipped over easily.

I wouldn't pay more than $20 for one of these. These also go on sale a few times a year, so if you don't really need them you could wait and see if it goes down to $10 eventually.

I have been using these for years. Good for supporting a sheet of plywood, provided they don't fall over when placing it on top.

Note: A pair of them snap together nicely for carrying and storage.

I have these and had decent experience when new. But over time, the metal supports that connect the leg to platform started to fold from constant use and are now pretty useless as they won't stand upright unfolded.

If using occasionally, I think these are ok but for long term, I would recommend the Worx worktable. Lot more reliable, higher load capacity. They go on sale from time to time around $90-100.

These are great for what they are when they're at their "sale" price (i.e. 75% of the time). I would NEVER pay full price for them though.

I regularly see people selling them on Kijiji for $40 or $50 each and it takes a lot of effort to not send a snarky message about how they are pretty much always on sale for under $20.

As other have said, they're decent. A little wobbly as the legs are quite spindly, but they do the job.

Personally, I will say these are kind of terrible. They are fine if you set them up and throw a sheet on them. But they are terrible wobbly if you have to for some reason move them at all, having a plastic pair I much prefer their rigidity to these.

Those people paid $20.

I just checked and get about 30-3/4"

I've had these for years. (bought for <$10).
Every time there is a thread about these, I'm baffled by the statements of instability.
If you push sideways with little or no weight on them they aren't great for stability.
However, that isn't how they typically get used.
In the vertical direction they are quite stable and strong.
These aren't portable work tables like Worx like you can instantly plop down and have a sturdy platform.
Like any sawhorses, you really need at least 2, and then they work together to be quite stable.
An analogy might be table legs, which by themselves have no stability.
Add the table top, and you can stand on it.

Also, don't just open them and expect perfection.
There is a little play/adjustment of the legs.
Adjust each one slightly in relation to the surface it sits on, to maximize stability.

For compactness, they are hard to beat.
At old prices (~$10) they were "must have", but ouch $20 is quite the jump.

The only thing I'd use these for is to paint trim. They are wobbly AF.
Trying to use these to cut down sheet material is next to impossible. I have a pair of cheapo Jobmate plastic folding horses that do a much better job.
