[Canadian Tire] Mastercraft Rotary Tool Accessory Set, 301-pc $14.99 (75% off, reg: $59.99)

Canadian Tire currently has a nice set of rotary tool (Dremel, etc) accessories on sale for $14.99, $45 or 75% off it's regular price of $59.99. Edit: thanks to @DougO for the heads up: the 500-pc set is also on sale for $49.99, $80 or 67% off it's regular price of $149.99.

This 301-pc set is a good deal for what you get compared to other sets from the likes of Amazon, etc such as this or this one. Both also include a nice hard plastic carry case to hold and organize all the accessories.

Both sets includes most everything a hobbyist might need for their rotary tool, including: sanding drums, cutoff discs, abrasive discs, bristle brushes, abrasive stones, polishing pads, etc.

  • The Mastercraft Rotary Tool Accessory Set includes 301 of the most popular rotary accessories
  • Great for use in hobby work such as drilling, sanding, polishing, grinding, cutting and more
  • Compatible with most rotary tools and flexible shafts
  • Maximum RPM of 35,000, brushes of 15,000 RPM
  • Durable ABS plastic case with transparent cover

CT also has their Mastercraft branded rotary tool on sale at the moment for $49.99, $80 or 60% off its regular price of $129.99. This seems to be a sale price it goes for quite often, however. Seems to be pretty good based on reviews, specially for that price, but I don't have any experience with it personally as I use a cordless Dremel.

Also, the 500 piece is also on sale:

Thanks for your heads up, edited the OP to add the 500 piece set. Would be better to buy 3 of the 300-pc sets (900 pieces total) for $44.97 instead of the 500-pc set for $49.99, however Smiling Face With Sunglasses.

The mandrels are pretty crappy so you'll probably wear them out before you run out of cutting discs. But otherwise these sets are fine for what they are intended for.

The original Dremel set lasted for many years but eventually, I ran out of cutting and sanding wheels. The new Dremel set seems to be about the same quality as the one on sale. Probably comes out of the same factory. Looks like they just slapped a different sticker on the box. I don't expect these to have the same quality as the components from the old Dremel set but even if the wheels only last a couple uses, they are good enough for the jobs at hand. I use the unit sparingly as it is...

Thanks . I have found these Mastercraft relatively comparable as well. I'd guesstimate they last about 80-85% as long but for the price they are better as I get longer longevity out of them with a few replacements compared to Dremel's original bits at a much higher price point.

Is this actually a deal or just a standard 75% (normal price) deal from CT. Seems average quality at best, similar to Jobmate.

Most of these CT tools are just rebranded chinese things you can find on Ali express for a fraction of the cost. Sold at CT, princess auto, amazon, etc. CT does a great job at colourizing and pricing, then heavy discounting.
It's not a shot against them or any of these deals but just something to be aware of when buying.

Put a CCC price watch on A'zon. I got my Dremel 4000 kit 7yrs ago & no issue at all to this day. Works just like new. Also get a kit with the flex shaft if you're anywhere a hobbyist & wanting to work on finer stuff. Makes almost every job so much easier & more precise.

Before I got the Dremel kit, I bought the Crappy Tire cheapo which cheapo'd out & bit the dust after a few uses. FWIW Dremel built their name/rep on rotary tools so I'd stick to Dremel if at all possible.

Yeah This kit works fine. I was amazed that after cutting some aluminum out of my computer case I could actually use those sanding bands to file and smooth the edges. Works great.

Are these accessory sets compatibles with Ryobi Rotary P460 tools ? I may grab the 301 set and buy P460 tool later.
