[Canadian Tire] Mastercraft Spreader Clamps 24" - Clearance Price $18.43 (50% off) *YMMV*

Was at my local Canadian Tire and picked up a few of these Mastercraft spreader clamps, 24" (2 ft) in length, on clearance for $18.43 each, $18.56 or 50% off regular price of $36.99. Only the 24" version is on sale for this price. These regularly run between $35 to $55 each at Home Depot, CT, etc.

These Mastercraft clamps have lifetime warranty return at any Canadian Tire.

  • Spreader clamp features long clamping pads with anti-slip groove
  • Jaw positions anywhere
  • Measurement markings on pads
  • Comes in 12", 24" and 36" sizes

Stocktrack shows them widely in stock for $18.43 at many stores throughout BC, AB, ON, etc, but not all stores seem to be selling them for this price so YMMV.

I have an older set of these, they don't grip nearly as tight or release as well as my Irwin clamps. Hopefully they've improved them.

Yes it says lifetime (exchange only) warranty, however note they are discontinued and from my experience if they replace it with an item that does not have a lifetime warranty, you have now lost your lifetime warranty.

Those are good but beyond the small size the design isn't the same either. The jaw is not fixed on these CT clamps as they are on the Dewalt. A movable jaw (not just the clamp pad) provides some flexibility depending on your project needs.

Irwin and Bessey will always be superior, no debate possible there.

However these little guys have their uses. You don't need 200lbs of force to hold drying glue.

Home Hardware's store brand is very comparable and about the same price as this deal. At the store nearest me they have 3 sizes.

I agree that these aren't the best, but they have their uses. Incidentally, I was messing around with different sizes and locations, and the prices jump around quite a bit based on location. North London has the 36" for $22, with ~35 in stock. Better deal IMO.

The ones I have can barely grip, like only a few pounds of force. Actually, I think the one I have that works well is a Mastercraft Maximum? I'll have to check.

Huh, I've had no issues the past few days with mine (building a storage system for the garage). Since they have lifetime return I'd suggest getting yours replaced at some point. Good luck.

Thanks. Picked up a few more 36" as well now. All the best.

I highly doubt it... My clamps don't hold tight but then again they don't cost that much

The 4 clamps I picked up (2x24", 2x36") all clamp well. I wonder what the issue is on yours and @engineered's set. The reviews are mostly positive but others on the CT site have said the same as you. Since they're lifetime replacement, I'd get new ones if I were you. All the best.

These are also on clearance, under $12. Picked up the set, definitely good for the price.
