In flyer: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/flyer.html
Sale is July 24 - 30.

Seems like good price for all-in-one kit with case.
No reviews though

First of all....$280?! Lmao Skull🤣

But a more important secondly, if the kit contains the right sockets for your car this is pretty sweet. You'll still need a jack and jack stands to get the car up and safely, but I've spent a lot more at Canadian Tire getting these components separately.

I wouldn't say one needs a jack stand for tire change, as you won't be getting under the car, should be reasonably safe to just rely on jack itself, no?

As for the deal, I guess that's the new price, used to be $69.99 (eg canadian-tire-maximum-tire-change-kit-s ... y-2241055/)
As always - it'll be cheaper (when they're on sale) getting a torque wrench from PA (20-25), and a breaker bar from CT (15-25?); and the socket you need, but I think this kit is neat to have them on the same case and all that - might be worth the little extra

Up to you really. I don't like relying on the jack alone, call me paranoid but I've heard that they do fail some times.

I'm sure that the proper way is to use a jack stand, but for changing tires, I never do. As long as the jack is at the correct lifting point, is rated for the appropriate weight of your vehicle and you aren't going underneath, there should be no issues.

Agreed. I also don't use a jack stand but it is recommended as you never know when the jack lift is gonna crap out on you

pathetic socket range. 3/4 is 19.05 and 13/16 is 20.6375 and 7/8 is 22.225.

What about the bigger trucks that are 24 or 15/16 and 27 or 1-1/16.

Dont forget about the little guy smart cars with 15mm.......

I'd say the price is just fair.

Nothing could beat that old Princess Auto $20 1/2" Torque Wrench deal, but yadda, yadda, yadda... time machines.

I can build a tire change kit for my car for ~half this price using REGULAR PRICED Princess Auto components

https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/ ... -p8878746e
https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/ ... -p8895393e
https://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/ ... -p2925709e

Beyond that, torque wrenches are on sale every couple of months at Princess Auto. I'd suggest waiting and buying then.

$20-30 for a torque wrench

$2-20 for a lug wrench

$6 for a socket (or $20 if you buy a set)

Total = $30-$60

tl;dr; This isn't a good enough price. If you are doing seasonal tire changes, buy cheaper stuff. If you are working on cars all the time, use an impact wrench.
