[Canadian Tire] Mothers Speed Clay Mitt 2.0 $15.93 YMMW

Just in time for car spring cleaning!

Canadian Tire has the Mothers Speed Clay Mitt 2.0 on clearance for $15.93 at select CT (YMMW). I've been eyeing this for a while now and this is the lowest it's been. Never used it myself but I know a few people who recommend this and use this every season because of how quickly you can clay bar a car. Apparently it can be re-used for up to 20 vehicles??

Will give it a try at this price. Reviews look solid. I hate how long and tedious traditional clay bar takes!

Thanks OP. Picked up a couple. I'm a clay bar rookie so this should make the task a bit easier. Any clay bar advice would be appreciated!

Keep the surface lubricated and let the claybar do the work. Do not apply pressure. Work panel by panel in small sections and you're all good.

What can you use for lubrication? (best rfd option)

Standard car washing soap (without wax and any other additive) is fine.

Exactly! That is the RFD way.

?? I use clay lube. This is a $$ saving trick... Pure soap poured on the surface? Little dilution and sprayed? What method are you using? Please educate us on this

I was looking to see local prices ... Then I realized I never wash my cars... Even by just using my pressure washer I got 2 years ago...

Re-use your empty clay lube spray bottle and dilute your wash soap in it.
It's that simple!

I foam cannon with wash soap as lube seems to work well, just a small section at a time. Do the full wash first though.

This thing changed my life! I can probably clay twice as fast vs a regular clay bar, and the results (from what I can tell, but I'm no expert) are just as good
When given enough time, all threads on RFD can and will go off on a tangent.

I'm not sold on this. I had one of these "synthetic clay mitts" in the past.
Compared on two panels vs. generic clay. It did half the work. The material in the mitt is not the same as a generic clay bar, IMO...

You need to use the 2 bucket method. The idea is wipe down the panel you are doing with your wash mitt, rinse your mitt, dunk your mitt and clay mitt into the clean bucket, apply soap back onto the clean panel with the wash mitt, use your well lubricated clay mitt.

Has anyone dropped this on the ground? One thing I hated about the old school clay bar is dropping it on the ground and having to either fold it 100x or completely toss it. Dirt seems like it'll wash off on this one??
