[Canadian Tire] MotoMaster 5W40 Synthetic Engine Oil, 5-L

So I realized that I needed oil as my Shell stash is depleted and took a look at what was available. There were no discounts on Crappy Tire eyro formula, but this stuff was on sale, so I flipped it over... lo and behold, it's a3/b4 and has a bunch of euro certs! Not quite as hot as the Pennzoil $10 off deal, but still very solid.

Not just 5w40, but all grades it seems.

Castrol 5L on sale for $30 if you prefer that, but I don't see any reason to go for that over motomaster.

I still have years worth of oil left to use from the $10 walmart price error deal last year.

I missed out on it, we wake up too late on the west coast. The reason that I posted the 5w40 and not the other grades is that I'm not 100% sure on their prices being great or whether they have the appropriate certifications that one might need. ( I'm strongly suspicious that this is in fact Pennzoil Euro Platinum, which is an excellent oil.) You'd have to do your homework for the other grades.

It was marked as "clearance" last week when I purchased some but I also see my local store has been restocked.

I have no concrete proof, but IMO the motomaster oil is very similar to the Pennzoil that often has the rebate.

They are also both made by shell. I have had no issues using the motomaster oil in my mk7 GTI

And you don't need warranty. The difference between this stuff and the Walmart/Costco deals is that this stuff keeps you in warranty. The other ones don't, despite the fact that I also believe that they're good oils.
