[Canadian Tire] Schwinn 45 lumen bike light set in store clearance $15.93 Burnaby South

Just picked up a couple of these from Burnaby South (market crossing) CT. Seems to be good quality. Only negative reviews are about how hard it is to put the battery in. I just did mine and while it is a poor design, it’s not too bad. For this price I’m really happy with the quality. BTW, in store display price was showing full price but rang up as 15.93. There were a couple left in the display.

yeah should be dim .. I have a light I got from MEC a couple of years back for around 20 $ , it has different modes between 50 - 150 lumens .. its ok to ride in low light conditions , I guess riding in complete dark you will need more lumens .. that being said at 50 lumens other people will be able to notice that a biker is there , if that is what you are looking for ..

Many people do that - not "2000" lumen though - mount a flashlight on the handlebars.

I mount my flashlights on my bikes using these clips from ebay. They're 99 cents Canadian from various sellers.

I prefer my 1800 lumen headlight.

Yes, it is very dim but the flashing mode for both headlight and taillight does the job, i.e. makes you noticeable in the dark. Also, I needed something quick and these were available in-store.

I think these are more for just being seen by motorists, than lighting up your path. Definitely won't be good for much more than that.

Buy this instead for $20. They're literally spot lights.

I use two of these when riding trails in the winter at night (one on the helmet, one on the bars). You can wrap the lithium battery pack to your top tube.

In your experience, how long does this thing actually last? Thought about getting one of these for a while but never pulled the trigger.

When the battery packs are new about 3-4 hours. You can order spare packs for $10 on ebay.

I'd recommend having a packup battery pack in your pack because you may run out mid trail.
Also keep a flashlight or your cellphone charged just in case.

Ahh, ok, thought it might last a little longer. A little ways back I got on the Armtek Elf C2 deal on amazon for $50. I like it because you can easily use it as a headlight as well as a flashlight or mounted on a bike... And usb rechargeable so could just plug it into a power bank if needed. It lasts about the same amount of time at 1000 lumens, which is more than enough i'd say.

These headlamps/bike lights are incredibly bright, so 3-4 hours on a lithium pack is average. I don't think you truly understand how much these light up the trail.

Imagine riding in daylight... in the middle of night.

If it was legally allowed I could ride a downhill trail at Blue Mountain with one on my helmet and one on my handlebars.

Well for $10 I might see how it compares to my 1000 lumen one... But your link says 8000 lumens... Would you say it's anywhere near that? The others I see that look exactly the same say 1800 lumens :P
