[Canadian Tire] Starfrit Securimax Can Opener $12.97

People on RFD really like this can opener and after buying one this summer I do too. Been as low as $9.99 occasionally on Amazon but our old one just broke and our dog doesn't want to wait until the price goes any lower to eat :-).

Old RFD thread: amazon-ca-starfrit-securimax-auto-can-o ... 7-2377501/

Enjoy!

I already bought 6 (for 6 kitchens) and I will never need them again because they are superior to every can opener in the world and will never need to be replaced.

Amazing, wonderful, fantastic

I can attest to the efficacy and durability of this device. Not having to deal with the sharp metal that results from traditional can openers is a big deal.

Sorry, maybe I'm not getting something. How's this different than the $3-4 can opener at Dollarama? Is this a lot better?

Boom and Bust Calgar…
Thanks OP, my current can opener has worn out. One of my kids is a leftie so she'll appreciate this.

Is this one of those openers that just takes the entire top off? We have one of those, but it's just ok. It doesn't work for some can brands (though mostly some chickpeas and other middle eastern canned goods).

Sorry, this isn't true, I'm just an idiot and misremembering something.

My gashed up knuckle says be careful you have to pack them down.
I don't like linking to promo videos, but I couldn't find a review from a person:
