Looking to purchase a 4k TV this black Friday around 50"-55". I know everyone is high on HDR and what not. I'm an amateur and haven't bought a TV since my Sony 1080p XBR projector TV. Really would like some advice on whether or not this would be a good purchase? Does this have HDR? If not what should we be looking for this Black Friday if we are interested in a 4K TV (Smart capabilities is not necessary)

From one Amazon review:
Good news: it's a true 4k panel, mine was anyway. No RGBW false promises.

Bad news: there's backlight vertical banding, fairly distracting when you have a plain background.

The speakers are fairly tinny but I wasn't expecting much for the prime day deal of 400 cdn. Good amount of connections and the manual says it can handle 4k at 60hz so could work well as a monitor.

Overall I'm happy with it for the price I paid.

Just picked up this tv at Canadian tire and color me impressed. Fired up planet earth 2 in 4k it looks absolutely stunning.

Used the rexall canadian tire gift card deal(i put $480 on a variable card, flyer said its not supposed to work but it does). Tv comes out to $483 with taxes and environmental fee but you only pay $432 for the gift card.

$432 tax in for an awesome 55" 4k tv.

Wanted to upgrade to 4k for the xbox one x i just picked up. Huge difference over my 1080p.

Made a video for people to see tv in action above.

Has arc, 4k60, tv tuner, optical out, 4 hdmi inputs, component, av and usb input, cec

Hot deal.

Thought it was already on sale? It was 399.99 plus $23 environmental fee. Same price as the 49uhd of the same series from Sylvania.

Is it going to be 399 with the environmental fee?

Does canadian tire do a price guarantee?

Ill try and film some other content so it doesnt get blocked. Thanks

Going to be 374 before tax. Not sure about the price guarantee.

Sylvania is just another sticker Curtis puts on its cheapo TVs (along with RCA, ProScan and recently Technicolor), its the same TV also rebranded as "Haier, Fluid, Avera".
The Technicolor version was $380 @ SDM last weekend.
The RCA version will be $370 @ WM (instore and online with FS) for BF.

Also note, unless you are familiar with the return/exchange policy at the specific CT location you are purchasing from "stay away".

My local canadian tire said they would price match the boxing day price if i come back.

$375 for tv (plus $23 environmental fee not sure if ontario only?)= $398

With tax $450

Use the deal at rexall for the 10% off on the canadian tire gift cards. You cam buy a $450 gift card for $405.

$405 with tax for a 55" 4K TV.

Not HDR. The cheapest true HDR of panel I've seen was the 43" LG at $499 from almost every store during black Friday.
