Had that happen earlier this year........bought an induction friendly cookset from Crappy Tire ($1200 set for $75 deals lol).....even had the induction friendly label and printing on the box......unpacked it and it wouldn't work on the stovetop. Ended up having to return it. Great idea about bringing a magnet with you.
