You are forgetting the case, maybe with a big Dewalt logo. It will impress your neighbors and friends, that you cannot put a price on :-)SansPants wrote: ↑ This goes on sale tomorrow for $150, hence the OP's post. Website still shows the $299 price.
Anyway, I shop at Canadian Tire regularly, so here's one thing you should know: their "sales" are always exaggerated. It's not truly "50% off".
Let's see what you get withthis kit:
a breaker bar - you can get these on sale at Crappy Tire for $15
a torque wrench - you can get these at Princess Auto/Crappy Tire for $40-$50ish?
So, $150 sale price, minus $15 for the breaker bar, minus $50 for a torque wrench = $85. For $85, you're paying for 5 sockets and a crummy flashlight. Thus, this is a terrible deal.

Those jacks are called widowmakers for a reason. Other than emergencies, I would not trust the jack in the trunk. If you're changing tires seasonally, get a proper jack and at least one stand.Arrgh wrote: ↑ I got my torque wrench at PA for $15. This is probably the only thing people are missing to do tire changes themselves. The car comes with a jack and the wrench to loosing/tighten the nuts. Maybe buy a stand and even a better hydraulic jack (got my 2-ton jack for $30).
Anyway, no need to pay $300 or $150 for this. It's not a good deal.
