[Canadian Tire] Winter Tire clearance on selected style/size

Was looking at costco for the 20% today then found this deal from CT, was lucky to get a set of 4 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 for 577.72 + tax and fee for a 2016 Tiguan. style and size looks very limited. if you are lucky i believe this is a better deal than costco's 20% off on bridgestone, specially for those who doesn't have a membership or just need replacement for one or two of their tires

I picked up a set For my mother’s car two weeks ago for less than used ones I was looking at on Kijiji! Just check the date code From the sidewall when you pick them up. They tried to give me three that were manufactured in 2019 and one from 2017. After pointing it out, they brought me the fourth match from the back.

I picked up a new set of Michelin X-Ice Xi3 205/60R16 ... all DOT 4119 ... $456.66 (taxes included) from CT on August 22 ... $386.12+$18 TRF ...

Gonna have these mounted on my stock 16" rims at my buddy's shop this November.

SOLD my set of 4 Falken Espia EPZ 205/65R15 Tires on 5x114.3 Rims for $200 in May 2020 after driving 5 Winters (35700km) with them ... had 7/32" tread left. Bought them in October 2015 from Premier Wheels Direct with Rims for $620 ... DOT 2510.

hmmm now this seems tempting can get the Michelin X-Ice Xi3 Tire at a cheaper price than the bridgestone blizzak ws90 from costco at 54.90$ cheaper. However its not that big of a difference especially if the ws90 works way better in deep snow compared to the Michelin according to reviews online
I almost pulled the trigger by canceling my costco tire order but I won't.
I live in Montreal, and i know how shitty Winters can get.

Canada, eh?
Pay attention to manufacturing date folks, CT is known to sell some tires that have been in storage more than 5 years.

When we pick up the tires in store, can we refuse/refund the order if the DOT is too old?

Make sure NOT to have CT install them unless you want:

Don't forget, loose lugs, missing lugs or broken studs.

That's why you look at the DOT first and do not let them install the rubber .... take the rubber elsewhere. I made that mistake at Premier Wheels Direct with my set of Falken Espia and also bought rims from them ... Bought in 2015 and the DOT on them all were from 2010!

Yes you can refuse your order ... it's just like buying something and you don't like it .. it can be refunded right away!

That is why you do not go there for anything that they can touch your car with! Even an oil change at CT is dangerous!
