[Canadian Tire] YMMV - Greenworks 80V Lawn Mower - $399.99

In the "Pre-Season Clearance" flyer available in-store and in the mail there's the "Greenworks 80V Lithium Brushless Cordless Lawn Mower, 21-in" listed as $300 off at $399.99.

I can't find an online version of that flyer. I confirmed that there was a stack of the lawn mowers at that price at the Burlington Canadian Tire in a featured area near the front door.

It seems to be the same as the Kobalt 80V from Lowe's.

Doesn't indicate a sale online so I'm not sure how widely the flyer applies:

Stores offering the pricing listed below (thanks, seafish!)

I was in the Canadian Tire store in Welland this morning. They had a bunch of lawn mowers lined up with sale signs on them. I didn't notice any battery operated ones, but there were electric & gas models. Looked like for some models there was just one, and others multiples. I didn't see any boxes and they all were assembled. I looked at a couple of them and didn't think it was a great sale, so didn't take pictures or record prices (would have been difficult to get model numbers on some of them anyway).

Always use seafish's tool for actual price. A lot of CT don't update the price tags for clearance items.

Yep did that, stocktrack.ca shows this mower as $525 in Welland and one of the St Catharines stores.

How's the return policy for clearance items at CT? Does CT take back tested equipment? :) Just not sure about the whole gas/electric route.

EXCLUSIONS
Some products at Canadian Tire are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. These include:

· Gift Cards
· Tinted paint and stain products
· Products cut to length or modified
· Magazines
· Firearms
· Ammunition
· Fireworks
· Clearance or final sale merchandise

Looks like if you buy this, you're stuck with it.

Having owned a battery powered mower (a 24V Worx) model, I wouldn't go back to gas. This one is 80V, and whereas mine would stop running after about 40 minutes, this one should run at least an hour and a half, which should be long enough for even the largest lawns. It mulches too, so you're not having to bag. If you run out of juice, quick charge is 30 minutes, so an hour to charge the 2 batteries, long enough to do some other yardwork while you wait.

The one drawback to battery mowers is longer grass, or grass that's still a bit wet from either morning dew, or a recent rain. They're designed to increase the torque to cover longer grass or slightly wet grass, but that increase in torque = a decrease in battery life. Thinking this may not be a great deal in a place like Vancouver.

This one comes with 2 batteries and from reports 1 will charge in the time it takes for the other to discharge so there should be no down time other than the time to swap the batteries.
