i think everyone kinda knows earnings will be poor pre-rec sales so i don't see a lot of downside. plus we just dumped 20% since ath. i don't think this stock will fall much below 40 but that's just my opinion.

Does anyone have a benchmark with longer history?

It almost looks like cannabis prices trace commodity...

Then Hydro 1 would have been a better buy.

Now that the pros has been discussed about a potential split stock, what are the cons?

Increased volatility.

In a stock that already have huge daily swings.

gonna go all cash, take a few losses and day trade WEED if that happens.

Cost to borrow has come down a lot since last year from as high as 30% to mostly below 20% on the largest cap companies. As of May, the sharks have increasingly started to circle around this sector as the share issuance since the Jan's high has been high - shares outstanding in the pool of 40 that IHS Markit tracks shows an avg, share issuance increase of 28% YTD. Aurora Cannabis and Aphria have issued the most new shares out of the bunch, hence why they are underperforming.

I suspect those that are shorting with the lower carry cost are mostly professionals vs. mostly retail longs. Not sure exactly how this will end but it's not going to be an easy ride for much longer for one crowd.
