I kinda did it but it is not cheap. I paired my Asus AC3100 router with a PCE-AC88 wireless card for my desktop. I used to have gigabit and I was getting 650-780mbps on speed tests. This means I should be able to get close to the advertised speed for a 500mbps plan. I'm switching back from Bell to Rogers 500mbps today.

I wouldn't consider 299/300 to be slow.

guys, this netgear X6 R800 is shit!! when i do speedtest right from router i'm getting 128\23 download which is as advertised, if i do a test on my laptop i was only getting 30 down and 10 upload i had to downgrade my firmware to ver V1.0.3.54_1.1.37 which it didn't help.

after that i did disable QOS i'm not better hitting the 95 over wifi.

any recommended router to change my shitty netgear router?

I just signed up to CAN-NET for the 300/20 (Rogers Network) for $34.xx/m for 2 years, no contract with a one time install fee of $59.xx+tax. I opted out of the $5/m router rental. This is a way better deal than my current ISP. Too bad I can't use my own cable modem though. Looking forward to the faster speeds. I'm going from 30Meg Down to 300Meg down at a cheaper price. I never would've know about it if I hadn't have looked here on Red Flag. Woohoo!!

That works too but it's not the cheaper alternative. The 68U was selling for $130 at BB last week.

Yes, They told me that too. Expires today.
I would be transferring over from Carrytel (I called them and they said they dont do pricematches btw) and the guy said that I get an install discount for transferring. $30 off It was hard to understand him so I think thats right.
I still am not 100% sure how to cancel. He tried to explain that too but he was hard to understand and spoke really fast. He said to just fill out the form... not sure.

This is the instructions I got from ModemOutlet:
Here are Carrtyel customer --> us transfer steps, you'll 50% off or $30 off for install

1) fill form https://www.modemoutlet.com/pages/internet-signup
2) reply the notification e-mail support@ModemOutlet.com with your old PDF version Carrytel invoice
13:23
name & address need match the name&address for new order, otherwise discount may not be honored
Wait for discounted payment notice and you can pay $30 to start transfer
Is it clear enough ?
So it sounds like I dont do anything with Carrytel. ModemOutlet does the transfer over. My bill cycle is Sep 15,2019 - Oct 14,2019 so I asked for the internet to be installed on Oct 13th, However, my next bill will be charged around september 25th.. so do I still need to contact CarryTell so they dont charge me for another month, or will I get a credit back?
