Looks totally fake, minimal details on the website, support phone number has a robo answer asking for sending email only, one whatsapp number, they are just offering email or chat i guess.
looks fishy but it's real. used to be a RFD member. I signed with them 2 years ago. will call in for this new plan as back then, only the 60/10 plan was offered for Quebec residents

Would you guys go with cable or dsl?
depend what you want for speed. dsl is only up to 50 where I am (that's the speed Bell can guarantee) so I went with cable instead

Anyone know which modem type they rent out for free. That was a deal breaker for me last time around. Thanks
I'm an existing customer with a CGN3 and they told me I could keep on using that. But for new customers might be different based on the vibe I got from the CS.

No FTTE service in my area. Have to stick with cable.

It really depends on where you live and the infrastructure there for both dsl and cable. As someone mentioned that dsl is limited to 50 mbps is many locations unless you live in a newer development but you can count on the 50 mbps to be there for you anytime of the day regardless of the congestion in your neighborhood. The 50 mbps might be a bit lower depending on your distance from the node.

With cable, the infrastructure in your neighborhood will greatly affect the speed you will attain versus the theoretical and being able to maintain it throughout the day/evening. If you have a congested node, a 150 mbps speed will crawl to 10 mbps in the evening during peak hours.

Conclusion: go with cable and if it doesn't work out flip over to dsl.

CanNet are legit. But they are a small playe. Be ready for some throttle during peak hours. I had them on their 150mbps plan in 2017. Speeds would drop to 50-75mbps during 6-10PM everyday. Apart from this issue, they are largely okay.

Tech support is virtually non existent, basically it is bunch of guys sitting in India with very limited access. So they cannot do much apart from playing from a script, even if they wanted to.

Modem Outlet is also a legit reseller and can sometimes offer better deals, like free installation or router, etc.

Hope that carrytel would follow up cannet's deal by providing similar plan to its customers.

"Ontario Internet (Rogers area): 34.98/month price guarantee for 2 years, 300M special, 300M download, 20M upload, one time $60 processing fee, FREE Dual band wireless modem INCLUDED, FREE shipping" Here is what I found, is it the same plan that OP talks about?
Back in the day both providers had a presence here, if this thread picks up traction, carrytel may counter with the same deal. Here’s to hoping but switching doesn’t look too painful.

I was just offered 120 M for $34.98 plus tax for 2 years after $44.98 in Cogegoland from Cannet chat.

I got offered $34.98 from cannet via live chat. But the router is not included. that won't matter as I already have 2 routers.
Did you guys get the processing fee waived or credited in next months? I was told the processing fee wouldn't be waived or credited.

For the cable, the modem can be either TC4350 or DCM 476 as told by the sales agent.

So you managed to switch to this plan as an existing customer?

I've been with CanNet for the last 1.5 years or so.
Only one outage and no peak throttling (downtown core).

Their support is adequate when something goes wrong but don't expect incredible white glove service or anything.

I did not get the fee waived. It was a charge from Roger's. Anyone here got the fee waived?

Just search. It was (and still is) well discussed promo on this forum. $24 for 500Mbps and $34-39 for 1 Gbps. I just signed up last month. Used their chat, mentioned the offers I saw on RFD, she checked my " eligibility" and offered me the same plans. Discounts are for 12 months, but she said to contact them before they expire, for another promo.
