Hi guys,

I received an email this week from cannet since I used to be a customer in the past.

They have a good deal for people in Ontario Cogeco service area looking for internet plans:

Cogeco Cable 40
$ 29.98/month
Download: 40M
Upload: 10M

Cogeco Cable 60
$ 39.98/month
Download: 60M
Upload: 10M

Cogeco Cable 120
$ 49.98/month
Download: 120M
Upload: 10M

Cogeco Cable 180
$ 59.98/month
Download: 180M
Upload: 20M

Most of these plans are for 1 year and they come with no contract, they do have an activation/processing fee of $59.95.

I've had cannet for several years now and very pleased. Still at the mercy of Cogeco infrastructure.

Side note, The one time I did call in for tech support they proceeded to ask me covid screening questions. It took me a second to figure it out and then I lost it for a minute🤣

pretty scammish to add an activation fee. This company has a bad rep in the last 2 years for extremely slow internet speeds during prime time hours.

Thanks for letting us know about the different deals out there

Similar experience with slow speeds at prime time. At one point I suspect there was considerable traffic shaping.

Yep. Vpn proves it, esp on sites like youtube. I still stick with 'em for the price.

I have the 120 Mbps plan with Cannet, so this is the best price I have seen out there. I have not had any issues with them recently. My household has 3 users at any given time.
the quality of the internet really depends on the Cogeco cable lines that are in the house.

LOL. No. The issue is they throttle when you go over a limit they put but don't tell you about

No, I had Cannet for 6 months, they throttle! This is a perfect example of "you get what you pay for".

I had Canner for a bit over a year, it was mostly fine but I moved on due to throttling and when internet went down, you are at their mercy, they fill in a ticket to pass on to Rogers/Cogeco and you just wait.

I needed something more reliable as I started to WFH. For those who dont need super reliable or fast connection, this is fine.

I have had cannet for 1 year. I had to call them twice,once becuase I delayed, the 2nd time right away. They fixed my speed while I was on the phone (which was ~6 months ago). Otherwise it has been rock solid, always at full speed, far better then sticking with cogeco who had multiple times it was down for hours for everyone. Now my rate goes up $10 (which was the deal when I signed up), still far cheaper then the negotiated rate with cogeco. I should have changed to cannet a long time ago

My current 2 year promo is coming to an end, and unfortunately I don't have Cogeco in my area. So wondering what kinda promo is out there for Cable 150 or 300?

It's hard to do a compare when this company's plan is 120 vs 150 for other companies. It's not doing them any favors when they already have a mixed to bad reputation from the past 2 years.

why is the price for 150mbps vs the 300mbps - the price are same? first 12 months its 59.98, and after 12 months its afterwards $79.98 monthly plus taxes. is this mistake or why would someone get 150 where 300 is costing the same?

I had them for like 3 years. First 2 years it was good, with stable speed (around as advertised) and less than a handful of outages. The last year was a nightmare, with crawling speeds in the evenings (2-10mbps on 300 plan) and staff helpless to do anything about it. Obviously, they don't have the bandwidth capacity to handle the new users. I no longer recommend this isp. Switched to Fido and it's a big difference, but yeah, going to pay more twice as much as Cannet soon as Fido's one year promo expires. Still worth it for the speed and stability.
