Hello, could you explain what is meant by "Free switch from your current ISP"? Are you going to pay off all the unpaid balance in my current contract?

No it just means the installation or transfer process from your current provider will incur no cost; if you are under contract with your current ISP that is something you would need to negotiate with them.

Yes no problem, we would just have to arrange a different shipping address for your equipment.

1. I assume your upstream provider is Rogers?
2. Throttled in any way at any given time? (day time throttle?)
3. Is there an additional discount for referral?
4, Do you dispatch a tech if we are currently on Rogers?
5. Dynamic ip or static

I'm interested for two lines

i'm tempted to switch to this from my current 60mbit Fido deal at $68/mo, but would be sacrificing my customer service

1. I assume your upstream provider is Rogers?

Yes, Rogers is our backbone provider.

2. Throttled in any way at any given time? (day time throttle?)

No we do not implement any forms of ITMP; the usage is completely unlimited.

3. Is there an additional discount for referral?

Not at the moment because our margins are already so low.

4, Do you dispatch a tech if we are currently on Rogers?

For a new installation we would; for a transfer case we wouldn't have to but we would need more information.

5. Dynamic ip or static

Pretty much static, but there is no guarantee. It might change if you swap equipment.

Let me know how else I can be of assistance :)

Although we do agree; we cannot compete with the level of customer service FIDO provides, we can guarantee 24/7 English speaking customer service and technical support staff.

IP's are normally always static unless you change the mac address or hardware of course and not clone the old mac.

Is the cable modem just a plain modem haha? I feel like alone that would be hot. Rogers always giving these bloat router combo's.

Sadly I'm on the Quebec side these days.

The plan includes a FREE wired modem; for customers who want a built in AC dual band router combo it is an additional $2/month.

I've been with Eastlink for a long time but I now pay $190 a month for TV, phone and internet. This is rather tempting. Do you have internet phone service too?

WARNING:

This ISP has the worst support I've ever experienced.

I've had troubles with this ISP since day 1 (~2 months ago), speeds were not consistent. (check my post history if you wish)

I have the 150meg package and youtube would buffer on 4k.....

Called them up, 2-3 hours, 5+ phone calls nothing, i get no where

oh well, internet starts working and i forget about it...

till last weekend.... omfg worst support experience of my life

I am not exaggerating when i say this, I called them 5 times Saturday, they called me back 3 times for a total for ~3 hours.

I am experiencing packet loss, high ping and low speeds, at the end of this ordeal they said they would send a tech onsite after warning me if it is determined it was my fault i would be charged ~$90.

I accept, w/e I know it's not me.

I get a call Monday night (tech is supposed to arrive 8-2 Tuesday morning, and i've made plans to make sure someone is home), they tell me a tech isnt coming, and they are going to try to fix the issue by sending me a new modem and telling me I have to buy a splitter to put on the line.... (after being on the phone for almost an hour again)

You see, my modem cannot synchronize the channels because it is out of spec. Signal strength is between 6-13 when it needs to be -7 to +7, they tell me installing a splitter will lower my overall signal strength and allow it to synchronize within spec.

I explained to them it has been broken since day 1 and they should send me a splitter with the modem, they agree....

Thursday the modem arrives, no splitter, i plug the modem in - it doesn't work, I call them again - another 30 minutes on the phone and they realize the modem isn't activated, he tells me it will be activated in 24 hours - it's friday night nearly a week later since my internet has been toast - no new modem (it's still not activated and won't be all weekend), no tech onsite, no splitter, 10+ calls to and from them in the past week, 4+hours in the last week.

Since day one its been 15+calls, and ~6-7 hours on the phone with these jokers.

They have also messed up my billing twice in a row now

pics or it didn't happen:

What's the modem model that will be included as part of the free wired modem rental?
This seems like a similar deal to Carrytel's, except with free wired modem and 1 cent cheaper per bill lol
