Exactly what I have seen. 8-9 slow as can be .and speedtests claim to be somewhat ok...
And now with more people stuck at home for the next few weeks only going to get slower. As much as I hate to admit at this point I think bell maybe the better option if you have ftth

I've been using them for almost 3 years as well. When my 2 years came up and the price went up, I called it and they offered the original price going forwards, so I took that. I'm normally in Asia and came back due to the virus, and staying at my parents with cannet. It's prety garbage. VNC to asia is slow af even during the early afternoon hours.

Also looking for recommendations. My friend joined Fido for 75M for $45 for 12 months. I may do that if nothing else better comes up. I don't need high speed, just consistent speeds.

I saw some good and bad reviews for carrytel: https://www.carrytel.ca/rfd-special.aspx

39.99 going forward for 75M isn't bad if their speeds are consistent. Pay a few bucks more and go for fido?

Been having issues since I upgraded to 300D/20U, between 6pm-12pm when I'm off to sleep, my internet speeds drop below 10mbps, it's ludicrous. Definitely have to switch as this is unbearable.

I had a ticket open with them and they did jack $h1t . I have no idea how many times I did speed tests and they are like it's fine. "We see you are using a lot of bandwidth , you need to control it.. or increase your plan to 300" flock no I told them . I'm at 150 and hardly get just above 75 . .. anyways I had bell FTTH installed yesterday will be cancelling my plan tonight with cannet.
Ended up getting a pretty good deal with bell for just internet 500 UL and they threw in Alt tv and crave .

Are they enforcing soft bandwidth caps and throttling right now? I am not at home so I can't tell.

So that's why the internet's been so slow! I really thought it was my router, but I just did a speedtest on my router and I'm getting 4 Mbps, which is way short of my 100 Mbps plan.

Edit: I also did a speed test through Fast.com, the Bing search speed test, and Speedtest.net. ONLY Speedtest.net returned > 4 MBps. Everything else returned the same or less. If this isn't throttling, I don't know what.

This is disgusting even the scumbags at Bell and Rogers have stopped capping Data.

The difference between Cannet and Bell... My switch has gone 10/100 and I haven't replaced it so thats why you see it capped at about 80Mbps

I have no idea if the throttling is because I hit some kind of hidden data cap. I rarely hit 500 GB a month, which is not excessive downloading by any measure.
What is apparent is that they are selectively speeding up Speedtest.net (50 Mbps) vs. any other web traffic (4 Mbps) during peak times.

I'm on 75 Mbit and called about two weeks ago. The rep scolded me and told me to "watch my usage" as recently I had been using between 30-17GB a day.

They had the audacity to tell me to do speedtest, which showed that my speeds were 75Mbit , and tell me that this was proof that they were providing their advertised speed. The problem was my "usage". There's a soft cap. I'll be leaving them soon.

So go with their $20 credit a month for now, 1 year later see what is better.
so the 75M is like $45/month for 12 month
