Cannot find survey of home, but required for permitting accessory apartment

I did not get a survey of my home when I bought the place (lawyer said there was only a plan of the subdivision which I have), which I need to apply for a permit to convert my basement into an accessory apartment.

From the links posted here buying-without-land-survey-2128008/ it seems like there is no survey of my home available.

Does this mean I would need to get a professional surveyor to do a survey to apply for this permit? Is there someone else I can contact to see if they have a survey, or is what I see on https://www.protectyourboundaries.ca/ the only available info on my home?

I just called into the city and apparently they said this is no longer required: they said a site plan is sufficient! Posting this for posterity.

Was this a relatively new home, I am assuming that's why you were able to get away without forking out for a new survey. Either way, good to know thanks for sharing.
