Who can sign up for Canoo?

Any Canadian who received their citizenship within the last 12 months (365 days) and is 18 years old or older can sign up for Canoo. Simply download the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store to get started.

Children under the age of 18 cannot sign up for Canoo; however, every Canoo member can bring up to four children with them for free every time they visit a participating venue.

The Cultural Access Pass is now Canoo, a mobile app that helps new Canadian citizens celebrate their citizenship by providing free admission to over 1400 museums, science centres, art galleries, parks, and historic sites across Canada.

The app offers free admission for every new citizen and up to four children, every time they visit for the first year of citizenship. The Canoo app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Also, because this is RFD and some may be looking to exploit. You have to scan your citizenship to register.

I guess the down voters must be making a political statement of some sort. Either that or Canadians just aren't the most hospitable .

uh... this has existed for years... and, with any luck, will continue to exist for the foreseeable future... so... not really a deal...
but! if you just became a citizen and discovered this, kudos to you man! and welcome to canada!

The Canoo app does not work, you are supposed to use it to scan the back of your citizenship certificates with the barcodes but the app does not work, I can never get it to scan the barcodes, it constantly gives me an error, if you look at the Canoo Apple app you will see many people reporting the same issue in the review sections, it's got a bad score!

It depends on the phone. Ask friends or anyone with a different phone to scan it

It scanned on first try for us. Important thing to note for the National Park entry is that it is for the new citizen only so spouse and family have to pay still. It would be so much easier if they just mailed you a family pass so that you wouldn't have to stop at the gate to get a free pass for the single trip.

Good deal. Bookmarked for April 2023, when I convert my PR into Citizenship.

Or maybe because this is not an actual deal. Every new citizen is aware of this app as you are told about before, after and during the ceremony. And it's just irrelevant for non citizens

I always found it funny to say it this way, given that new citizens have to have lived 3 of the past 4 years as PR to even apply, they're already living in Canada!

The right to the freedom to complain about the weather 363 days a year, among other things, (just don't complain about things the Trudeau likes). Here, why not start with complaining about this: The right to not be discriminated against based on nation of origin. Wait that's not a deal.

Canadians by birth already won the ovarian lottery and were born (probably, Free of charge...Best deal possible. Right?) in the best nation (or close to it depending on the year) possible. If you are old enough to read, then you may have been born during some of the free-est time possible in the years BC (Before Covid).

Welcome to Canada, now that you've passed the citizenship test, you can celebrate by a discount on visits to places to help you learn what is required to pass the citizenship test.

My thanks for joining us. And that whole free health care thing (at least in the provinces I've lived.)

Unless you mean Public Relations, then this whole deal is for PR.

Even for new immigrants also. Whatever you save in your home country, will be nothing here.
God bless Canada and the whole world.

Maybe more suitable for ongoing deals then, if there’s no expiry?

Sigh ,... whining about immigrants getting "all the good stuff" while the true "owners" of this country get shafted has always been free for those born here. It's on ongoing deal.

I became a citizen two weeks before the COVID-19 shutdowns. I was so looking forward to using Canoo, everyone in my family and friends enjoyed its benefits. I got incredibly unlucky. It's an amazing deal to explore an amazing country and I am often pissed about losing my once in a lifetime opportunity to take advantage of it.
