I have an old york bench in this style and I would recommend go for a rack + better adjustable bench (bowflex 4.1/5.1) that'll last you a very long time. You can't do a lot of exercises on this CAP bench because the barbell arms get in the way.

For bodybuilding purposes, you can gain just fine with standard barbells.
I loaded mine to 315lbs, it can easily go heavier. If you can squat 315lbs for 20 reps than yeah, you probably should seek an olympic bar.

I've bent lower quality olympic bars squatting way less than that, yes it's possible but they say you buy once / cry once.

An Oly Bar bending with less than 300lbs? Damn, Chinese brand?

My 1" barbell is from Northern Lights, and it's solid af. It says capacity of 250lbs, but had 300lbs on it and it's still straight as a morning wood.

I bought this bench and 100% regret it. This is good for teens and beginners.
I weigh 200lbs, and the bench wobbles from my own weight.
The single point of contact at the foot of the bench is a serious design flaw.

"weider". Rated at 300lbs. It's the typical cheap trash. Bent at 275. Not destructively but it's definitely noticeably bowed.

Can't wait for the return to old RFD days when in stock isn't a deal anymore. Not complaining about this thread though, I scored a regular price hair clipper set that I used yesterday. Seriously though I have looked non-stop and haven't seen anywhere with weights in stock so a bench is no use!

As long as gyms remain closed, in stock is considered hot. Sad :(
