Once in a while to take of old wax sure but not as a substitue for actual car wash soap.

Only was the car with soap (dish soap and other stuff) if you plan to wax the car after. If not then go buy a quality Car soap with maybe wax inside the soap to wash it by hand.

are you talking about Quick Detailer?

its used to remove light dust, isolated water spots, and bird poop. it also enhances the shine in your paint for a few days, and used for clay

Yes the quick detailer. Would you compare this to a normal wash or clay? Because I've heard from people that it's just mild soap and water. And that you can use soapy water for a clay bar instead of a quick detailer so I don't know.

QD is a high lubricity liquid to allow for quick cleanups. It can also have some wax to leave a better finish. For clay any auto shampoo is good enough.

I use soap water for claying when my quick detailer that came with the kit ran out. I usually wax right after claying so its not an issue.

I don't use Quick Detailer when I use Clay Bar. I figure it's unnecessary and wasting it when I already have soap and water from washing.
