Car got hit in parking lot - approx damage?

Father in laws 2003 Altima got smashed in parking lot

Light destroyed, bumper, and trunk

Got hit by a 2003 Rav 4

Approx. whats the damage here in estimate? Not looking to gouge the guy but be reasonable given time, rental, etc.

Thoughts?

Guys not gonna like the estimate I’ll tell you that.

Lots of damage there.

Given the age of the car if this went through insurance it will be written off. So tread carefully as to how much you want.

I don’t think that’s being fixed for a penny under $3500-4000. Like ep32k2 said it’ll probably be written off under insurance.

Sorry but thats a write off now. Even if you fix out of pocket.
The only way to save this is to go to junk yard. Buy a light, bumper and trunk lid and swap it yourself. Will cost $150 in parts and max 1 day of your time.
If you go to a body shop thats 4k to 5k. Do you have any idea how inflated those body shop prices are. I will not be surprised if they quote you $10k

Some shops will do cash deals or have lower quotes for non insurance work . Saying that it`s still 2K on the low side to 4k on the high side . Another poster said replace bumper , light and trunk lid from a wrecker might be the only reasonable thing to do .

$150 from a wreckers seems a little low.

looks like a write off. the cost of repairs will exceed the cost of the altima's current value. 4k range sounds about right due to the amount of bent metal work that needs to be done plus parts, paint and labor.
