Carrier Furnace Parts

Hi RFD,

My carrier furnace stopped working last night. I managed to pull the igniter from the Carrier 58STA070 furnace, but I need to find a replacement.

The igniter says "ISI Model 1409". Looks like the one in the amazon link below but I am not completely sure:

Where can I buy carrier furnace parts in the GTA? I would go there personally to pick the part up as I want this fixed asap. I tried phoning carrier support and they don't supply part numbers. I was asked to contact a local supplier.

Tried phoning Noble, but they don't supply Carrier parts. They only have Reeman and some other brand.

Tried contacting amresupply, but they don't have any stock in the GTA. I can only ship from BC or Alberta.

Tried contact CE Canada (which is the listed Carrier distributor. They don't sell retail to residential customers. I was advised to call a contractor and ask if the would sell me one.

Without an HVAC license, you will find it hard to buy these parts. It's damn cold today, you may want to just get it fixed.

Not so easy there Ma…
That part looks very similar if not identical to the ignitor that my old Bryant 80% efficient furnace used. Bryant is a Carrier brand. Amre is where I got the last one. Before that I bought through an independent HVAC contractor (got lucky) Amre usually used Canada Post but it failed during a postal strike naturally. They offered to send it via an alternative supplier for additional cost. Ask them for priority courier arrangements and plug in a couple of electric heaters?

SOLVED! Online help for AMRE said it wasn't in stock, but going to the store actually worked.

I decided to visit the AMRE store in Mississauga in hopes they would carry some generic brand that looked like the igniter I pulled out. And yes, they gave me one of these for $45:

https://www.amazon.ca/Robertshaw-41-409 ... OWVI&psc=1

https://www.amresupply.com/part/16850208

The Robershaw is slightly longer than the ISI 1409 that I had. The wires are closer together and doesn't fit the bracket correctly, but I simply screwed it tighter.

I have heat again. Although I can't seem to close the darn lid with the long screw.
