Been very impressed with Carrytel so far. I switched from Teksaavy which was the cheapest until today unless you lived near those condos which have really cheap fibre plans. Went with the 150mbps plan and it's been consistently that speed all day for the past week. With the price of the modem being so cheap and the plan being cheaper than all of the competition, it's a no brainer to switch.

Oh and for those switching to 150mbps, make sure your wifi router can handle it. I thought mine could because the box says 300+mbps but apparently a lot of these routers straight up lie about their specs and usually cap around 100mbps. I ended up just buying a cheap 20 dollar network switch from bestbuy so I could directly connect the modem to my PC for full speeds and just live with wifi having slower 100mbps speeds.

How slow does it get?

< 15 Mbps?
Honestly I've never seen it drop that low. The lowest I've seen it drop is 70-73 mbps out of the 75 advertised.

that drop is significant, you are talking about 50%. I get 170mbit on the 150mbit plan here at all times.
Well thankfully for my purposes I don't see any effect on my real-world usage, and this is only during that 9-10pm peak window. Also all that testing was done way back in December when a few members were posting issues. I never noticed any problems with what I was doing, I only checked because other RFD members were saying it was slow. The last time I checked for another RFD member at the specified 915pm time (I think it was about a month ago) I think I got 90M. Don't quote me on that though, you'd have to go back into my post history and find that posting.

I tested last week Thursday afternoon and I got 108Mbps, but of course this was non-peak times.

Found the post.... This is from last month

I am currently with Teksavvy cable internet. Do I need to cancel Teksavvy before connecting to Carrytel. Or should I wait and make sure Carrytel works before I cancel such that I do not have any down time.

Talked to the sale person today, they are using Rogers Cable, I'm wondering if I will experience low speed in peak hours with them like Rogers, thoughts?
