Could someone please confirm if the site primewire.ag is blocked with CarryTel?
I just hooked up with Carrytel yesterday and primewire.ag is coincidentally down at the same time.
If it is blocked it is a deal breaker for me. I hope i can still cancel the service within 7 days with full refund.
I just tried using VPN and it still wouldn't load. So it appears to be the site itself.

Cogent is the backbone of Carrytel and it blocks some of pirate sites.

the modem they give isn't wifi capable right? I don't have a separate router
Not. You need a separate Wi-Fi unit to plug into it.

Seems like the Fiber plans give a wifi modem and the cable one's do not... hmm.. I am on Rogers now and even the fiber plans are a faster and cheaper plan then what I currently have.

Just do a quick test with your phone. If you can hit that website on your mobile data but not over wifi, then it's carrytel blocking it.
done that with data on phone and also with dsl ( still have dsl and soon plan to cancel). Nothing, the site is down, there is no way of knowing if Carrytel blocks it until it is up again.

Great deal. I had to buy the modem last year for $120.

Switched from teksavvy a few weeks ago. The installation guy didn't even do anything cause I already had cable internet...he just extended my cable a little longer so I could place the modem on a desk instead of the floor. Speeds are ok, seem to be a little slow sometimes (despite speed test showing the advertised speeds) but bearable for the price. Haven't had any outages. Very simple switch.

So you booked it as a new activation instead of transfer? I guess it doesn't matter which you pick?

you should choose transfer only if you are Rogers customer...

if you are from any other isp, choose new activation

Assuming that the site primewire.ag has been blocked by Carrytel (or Cogen), will it be unblocked if I were to use VPN?

Yes...that's the point of a VPN. So that you can't be tracked to the sites you're visiting

I jumped from Teksavvy to Carrytel. I was on Teksavvy cable with 25mb and a 400gb cap paying $50 plus tax. I spoke with the cancelation department and asked if they could match Carrytel's offer. They said they couldn't and were sorry that I was leaving. Don't get me wrong, Teksavvy has been great for reliability and friendly service, but the price point, limited speed, and cap always irked me.

I've been with Carrytel for 8 days now. I use the Speedtest app everyday and have been averaging 30 to 40mb. Not getting 75mb doesn't bother me as much because I'm paying much less for speed that is faster than Teksavvy and with no cap. Now the household can Netflix all they want without me having to worry about overage costs. Glad I made the switch and thanks to OP for making this thread and those who posted so I had a good idea of what I was heading into before I made the switch.
