Cars with 2.0L Turbo Engines!

Cars with 2.0L Turbo Engines!

Hey RFD

I had started a thread about a Kia Optima that later turned into a thread about other cars as well, so I thought I'd generalize it under here.

I want to talk cars with (available) 2.0L Turbo engines instead of a V6. This engine is become really popular! A 4cyl eco friendly engine when you're driving.. and a turbo when you need that punch! On average you save 33% more fuel compared to a V6!

Which cars do you know and which one(s) is your favourite for what reason?

Some options include:

Audi A4 2.0T
Kia Optima EX Turbo / SX
Ford Fusion w/ Eco Boost
VW Jetta TDI
Chevvy Malibu (2013 i believe)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo
VW Golf GTI

If there are others with a 2.0L Turbo let me know!

Why not simply list engines rather than cars? It'd be a much shorter list.

You forgot a few other VAG cars in there--A3, A5, Q5, TT/TT-S, GTI & .:R, Tiguan, Passat CC (Passat NMS too but not in Canada), and EOS. Then BMW--X1, X3, 1-series, 3-series, Z4. Then you have Ford Focus ST and Escape, Explorer, and Taurus. Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Kia Sportage.

There's some others that are close like Lancer Ralliart (2.4L turbo) and Mazdaspeed3 (2.3L turbo)...

where did you find that number? 33% on average compared to V6? usually most turbo engines requires premium gas.
Selling a new never installed or used Edelbrock turbo kit #1500, but lowballers and buyers offering ridiculous 500 bucks for it.http://forums.redflagdeals.com/new-edel ... s-1151134/So now it is installed and in my civic :)

2013 Cadillac ATS has a 2.0T available. Very light car, 6 speed stick optional, very fun to drive. Journalists have said it handles better than a 328i.

2011-2013 Buick Regal Turbo also has a 2.0T. I have one at the moment and it does get great fuel efficiency. Power is adequate and doesn't feel like a 4 banger.

2012-2013 Buick Regal GS has a HO 2.0T.

Why are some turbo fours good while others like the sti get worst mileage than a v8? Worst than a mustang GT!

AWD drivetrain, gearing/ratios, lack of direct injection, lack of VVT (I think it doesn't have that but not sure), etc. all add up to poorer FE than more modern powerplants.

The days of loser atmospheric engines are coming to an end...slowly, but still they can't survive forever given improvements in forced induction engines over the last decade or so.

You have numbers to back that claim up? I was actually looking at an STi for my daily car since my big block is just a pig on fuel, so if you have numbers, I would be interested in seeing them.

EDIT: lol, mustangs...

Ford's GT
City - 12.2L/ 100 km
Highway - 7.6L/ 100 km

Subaru's STi
City - 12.6
Highway - 8.8

Maybe I'll just get a small block like the mustang....
