Casement Window stuck closed - What to do?

One of my living room casement window is stuck closed- well not totally.
After I unlatch it and turn the crank, the window will open maybe 1/4 inch and then no further.
I tried gently pushing the window open but it won't open any further.
I can close it again using the crank and open it again by the 1/4 inch or so.

This happened suddenly with no warning - window worked fine until that happened.
Any suggestions what I could try to open the window so that I can see what the problem is?

I wonder if a loose screw is jamming it? Maybe you can slip a butter knife or similar in to try to free things up?

There is a track on your window opening that the casement window will glide along. I noticed if i do not clean the windows once in a while it gets gummed up in there and will make it very hard to open and close, just give it a good wash and it should be fine, if not, the track might be bent or might be a screw protruding or blocking it
