My thoughts are if you listened to the negative parts of this in 2013, you lost out on major gains.

I remember the journalist who was asking to interview people, and I believe it was this very forum where he was. Good old times. Though the points regarding maintenance are sound - those glass condos will not last.

With how terrible the rental rules are in Ontario I have 0 issue with Airbnb

i agree but airbnb is a major problem too.... the city has turned into a giant hotel....

I think it would be better if airbnb is just for tourists vs renting it out to anyone (like some 19 year old throwing parties )

Build a system that prevents the platform from being misused.

exactly my point, condos and neighbourhoods are being ruined, long term rentals are off the market , about 31000 was the estimate recently
in toronto alone....

If the landlord have more control and the laws actually don't put them at such a disadvantage more people might consider renting it out instead of AirBnB.

in toronto alone....
build a better long term rental system. Home owners will continue to opt to use Airbnb as long as the rental rules remain what they are.
