To my fellow manga collectors: usually there is a B2G1 sale in March. Last year, it was only VIZMEDIA mangas. Due to supply issues, I’m expecting the same this year around, if we even get the sale. Picked up some Kondasha Mangas (which haven’t gone on sale for awhile) for 25% off this morning.

If you were smart, and picked up the $10 of $50 indigo cards last month (20% off) you are in for a pretty good steal!

Be strategic!

Agreed, I picked up some Kodansha, Yen Press and Tokyo pop manga since there hasn't been a sale in a very long time but I'll also be waiting for the B2G1 sale if it happens again this year. Now I hope that they have another gift card sale because I used all 4 of mine on this.

For any manga collectors, whats the cheapest way to get Jujitsu Kaisen? Doesn't seem like there are any box sets at the moment. Would it be straight up adding whatever volumes are out, and bulk ordering them using this deal?

For me the website is giving seemingly random discounts, none of which are quite up to 25%. I called customer service and they said to place the order and they will manually credit against my order.

They also said books that are on sale do not qualify, but I can't find that in any of the fine print. I'm going to push back on that.

Called in as you are right, not listed anywhere but even full priced books are not being discounted correctly.

Waiting for my order number to populate so I can call back to get an adjustment.

Here is the fine print:

Minimum purchase amount excludes gift cards, plum PLUS memberships/renewals, Love of Reading products/donations and shipping costs. Not valid on previous purchases.

*For plum PLUS members using a valid plum PLUS membership and applying the membership discount at checkout on eligible products.

**For plum members using a valid plum membership.

The series is licensed by VIZMedia. Your best bet is to wait for a B2G1 Manga sale as VIZMedia is usually included in these sales. If you don't need the series immediately, I suggest you wait. I doubt the series will go out of stock, and it's just a supply issue atm. Stack that with indigo giftcard discounts for best value. If you don't have any atm - rakuten has 5% cashback on indigo giftcards.

The Exclusions list just long…
What worth buying if those on sale books are not qualified for the discount

Someone is calling me back as "after discounts" my order is $190 and the extra deal for spending $100 + is not applying.
3 giant books, one book is full price, the other is $5 off and the other is like $2 off.....

How odd, I checked my order of 17 manga and they were all discounted by 25%.

Is the discount supposed to be a straight 25% off and not the usual Plum Plus 10% that stacks on top of promos? Like they are just including that in with the 15% off for everyone else and it's now 25% off?

The way they list things is confusing:
Special offers earned:

Ready, Set, Spring Sale
plum PLUS 10% Discount
Free Shipping for Plum PLUS
That really doesn't tell you anything. I can't seem to figure out how they calculated my total to check that it was calculated properly.

Nah, the last one was March 2021! I bought like 1K worth of mangas that time around lol

It just an increase in how much discount from what you normally get for PLUM PLUS. So it's 15% Spring Break + 10% Plum Plus = 25% discount.

I apologize you are correct. I didn't buy anything that one because I was a day late. I guess -25 is the new 40 lol

I think it doesn't apply to anything on sale already only full retail. You can see how the discount changes by putting stuff in your cart. Things already discounted don't get updated but things at full do.

That's what I figured, but I think something is wrong with my total still and I can't figure it out because they just hide it all behind "promotions applied" with a number I can't replicate.

Like even the GST they list off the subtotal they gave me is off by a few cents for some reason. A minor thing, but makes me question the entire thing now.

Is this supposed to increase the discount on anything and not just full price items?

Customer service seems to think it's just regular priced items that qualify.

I can't figure it out for the life of me. One book I ordered is regular price $23 and is on sale at $20.19 (I know not much of a discount). The total on it before tax they list is $15.42 on my bill.

If my math is correct a straight 25% off either the $23 or the $20.19 does not add up to $15.42. If you do 10% off plum plus and then 25% off the regular price you get $15.52 which is close.

Edited to add: If I pull out the 3 items from my order that are on sale and then add them to cart and let it calculate based on only the 10% plum plus discount and then do a separate cart with the other items that are regular price and do the 25% off I'm still off by 95 cents somehow. It's 95 cents in my favour, so I guess I'll leave it be.

Called customer service too. Sale items do not qualify for the additional 25% off. Additional 10% off for Plum plus only. And this is NOT noted in the Terms and Conditions for exclusions. Customer Service also did confirm that the additional 25% was being applied to sale items in the after Christmas sale this past January. So I thought same terms would apply. Very irritating that you have read and re-read the long list of exclusions and then call in, only to find there is no additional discount on sale items after you have spent 20 minutes loading your cart. Customer Service was well aware of the issue and intimated that they are fielding lots of calls.
