Having said this, we have a few from winners clearance that were $3, $4, $5 each. My kids like to swap cases so they have one for their various cases, and have a couple of backup ones.

Huge difference. I actually bought a dollar tree one strictly out of curiosity. It's all plastic and is really thin, and the cap pops off with little effort. The strength of the adhesive is also questionable. Also, the overall diameter is a bit smaller than a real popsocket.
