$50 for 6gb this one seems like the best deal.

I'd take 3G as the speed is fast enough if I'm not with Public Mobile.
Rogers 20GB/$60 5G plan + Iphone 13;
Lucky Mobile 3GB/$20 4G plan;
Koodo 50GB/$45 4G plan + Free International call perk + Iphone 11;
Fido 4GB/$0 LTE data/Month plan

Really? Anytime my connection drops to 3G with Rogers, the load times are crazy slow. I've found Freedom's HSPA to be more serviceable than Rogers around Toronto.

I'm on Chatr (from mobilicity merge) so just be warned speeds are capped at 3mbps. Its not unusable but don't expect anywhere near usability of LTE/full speed 3G. Also bear in mind that there are local calling/data zones.

I live in BC and tried Chatr. The real downside was Rogers doesn't allow Chatr customers access to enhanced network coverage areas. If you travel often on BC highways Public Mobile is a better choice.

I don't see why people complain about 3G (HSPA) network. All you need in a phone is fast browsing and watching Youtube at 720p. The Chatr network is good for those and the status of data charges in Canada is laughable at best.
I find these "5G" news ridiculous seeing we don't even have unlimited data and the high overage charges. High speeds are useless if you can't really use it.
My friend is on $30 Chatr 5GB plan (Mobilicity plan) and he is more than happy, HD video on youtube, fast browsing, facebook etc. are not an issue at all. And he uses those 5GB fully too.

Which Toronto do you live in? Wind is terrible in pretty much every part of Toronto. That's why I left to Public Mobile after 4 years of suffering.

I also got the Mobilicity plan that is chatr now. 3G speed is sufficient for most tasks. Can stream 720p video on YouTube smoothly . But not comparable to LTE. Speedtest shows 3mps max .

I'm in the GTA but if you can get by with 2 GB of Data and are not adverse to a two year "commitment" wouldn't the Zoomer unadvertised deal of $36 per month for 2 GB of LTE Data, unlimited Canada-wide calling and unlimited international Text / SMS be a better deal?

You get a "free" phone from a limited selection with the 2 yr. term (which many people sell to further reduce overall costs). Until the end of March they also have a $50 referral credit. There is a huge discussion thread on RFD here:

I will echo the other people's comments here. 3G is fine in theory but for some reason the 3G (or HSPA) network on Rogers is terrible. I'm with fido and anytime my phone switches to 3G the internet is basically unusable even if I have full signal bars. I think Rogers has done something to the backend or the network is just so saturated that it's unusable.

I would suggest going with Public Mobile which is now owned by Telus. You get access to the full 4G LTE speed Telus network with no zones or any BS that Chatr has. For $40/month you can get 2GB and unlimited minutes/text

+1 Same here. Once you've had LTE, can't go back.

Totally agree. Why pay about the same price for a service with zones and throttled 3G.

Right now I have 6GB $50 a month due to corp.
Anyone know where I can get tons of more data? Like 10GB a month?
