Cheap digital scale in Toronto?

Where can I buy a cheap digital scale in Toronto. Before everyone jumps on this with "what's it for?" wink wink! FWIW...It is for measuring the weights in a governor from a car transmission. I have to mod the weight to alter the shift points, and need to accurately measure how much weight I'm taking off. I need it to be able to measure down to 0.01 g

Thanks

Hey Pete, did you miss having your coffee this morning? ;-) Such negativity. So quick to judge. :-)
I do understand there are many crazy posts made here, with some not so sound ideas, but we cant lump every one of these posts into the same basket. Please, next time, try not to jump to conclusions and label me as a "shadetree mechanic" without knowing my background, equipment, skill level, years of hands on knowledge accumulated, or what in detail I'm working on, and whether this mod has been tried, tested, and proven by many specialists in their field who own, or have worked on this specific piece of automotive hardware. Peace :-)
FWIW Picked it up this morning.

Notice the smileys in my post Pete, and it was a friendly jab with the coffee comment. Lets agree to disagree with the validity of your points. ("Doomed to fail" Come one Pete, seriously...You don't think that may have been a bit judgemental? LOL. Because of the rapid growth in electronic technology these days, stuff is able to be made cheaper and can still be accurate. And that was why I made the original post.
Funny how my simple post of looking for a scale, turned into defending myself for asking. It's not a chip on my shoulder, but a response to what I was called.
Sorry Pete if I misinterpreted how you defined "shadetree mechanic," but attaching it to "doomed to fail" kinda put it in this category in my mind. I don't think that is paranoia.
http://onlineslangdictionary.com/meanin ... e-mechanic
"a hobbyist mechanic who works on their own vehicles, often in their driveway, and often causing more harm than they repair."
And, curious why you needed to try again to take another pot shot at me with the "access to specialty tools" line? I seemed to have ruffled your feathers, by questioning your response, and trying to explain myself. FWIW yes, I could go to a friends shop and use his scale, but it's Saturday. Also, this was something I wanted to have for myself.
Pete you seem like a good guy, who has some years of knowledge and wisdom under his belt. You are not alone in that area! :-) I don't drink coffee, but I'll hoist a cup of tea with you sir! :-) Cheers!

Hi,

The other reason Pete_Coach is beating you with his stick is because you never said how cheap(inaccurate) you wanted the scale to be. And if you had bothered to look locally or online. If you had found some scales, what brand & how much they were?

With a little effort, as you suggested, he found one on Kijiji.
Never beat him, he just had a bad morning and couldn't get over it. :)

Whoa! This has really turned into something it shouldn't have. I wasn't having a bad morning Pete LOL. With all due respect to you, I found your initial reply to negative and unhelpful. Nowhere in it were any suggestions to where I should look, or any ideas, like try Jewellers, ect. Instead, you basically said I wouldn't be able to find what I was looking for cheaply, and I was doomed to fail because I was some sort of shadetree mechanic. With a bit of levity, I kinda called you on your reply, (See above) but instead of laughing, and admitting you may have been a bit harsh and judgemental, you tried to defend what you had said, and took another pot shot at me. (see above.) Because this is the internet, I fully understand how things typed, can be misconstrued, so I tried to be light hearted with my next reply, pointing out why I had responded the way I had, and tried to extend the olive branch to you, hoping this would all just be water under the bridge. But you reply with saying wow, and roll you eyes like I'm crazy. I thought, just let it go, and didn't respond, but now you come back and take more jabs at me? I cant figure it out. I made a simple post, looking for something local (and yes I had been looking, but also though I post here to see if anyone could help. That is the purpose of this board right?) and it turned into this. One of the things I have figured out in life, is that sometimes people find it hard to admit that they may have made a mistake, and will defend their actions even though they know it may have been wrong. There are three sides to every story, your side, my side, and the truth. If we were sitting outside in a couple of lawn chairs, having a couple of beers, we'd both be laughing at this whole conversation. :-) Finally, please understand, I do not get upset over trivial stuff like this, life is too short... but, I also wont let anyone piss in my direction and try to tell me it's raining! I sincerely wish you the best Pete.

Cheers,
Paul
