[Visions Electronics] cheap ENERGY bookshelf speakers $128 + FS

I'm not sure if these speakers are any good but they fit my setup at home as I don't have much floor space. Visions is selling the ENERGY CB10 bookshelf speakers for only $128 for the pair ($170 off regular price) and free shipping to boot.

They seems to be pretty efficient having a sensitivity rating of 92db, 125W handling power and generally have good reviews everywhere. I did a quick google search and it's even cheaper than US prices!'

Hurry because the website is showing "limited quantities" so you best be quick.

Good price. They have had the matching surround speakers on for $79 per pair several times in the past and possibly again in the future. Pretty tough to beat for the bang for the buck factor here.

I'm not much of a speaker guy but just based on the fact the ENERGY speakers are much more efficient, basically producing louder sounds at the same volume on your amp as would the polk speakers. I can't speak to the QUALITY of the sound but I mean both speakers are highly rated so it just depends on your needs...and ears!

ahhh... wistfully dreaming about the days Energy made their speakers here in Canada... From what I hear (no pun intended), the current Chinese ones aren't too shabby though.

Energy is a Canadian company (used to manufacture in Canada; now designs in Canada and contracts the manufacturing to China like pretty much everyone does now) and the Connoisseur line is indeed a great choice for "bang for the buck". I've got an older set and can vouch for the sound quality.

Incorrect. Energy sold their company to Klipsch. Klipsch was then purchased by Audiovox. There is nothing Canadian about Energy anymore.

Exactly, Klipsch oversees the Operations of Energy, but the staff, designers, and sound engineers are all the same original ones. In fact Klipsch and Energy have not suffered anything in performance since the business transaction. Audio Vox is the former name of Vox Internarional which is a large conglomerate of all these electronic companies headquarter in the state of New York (Hauppage)

How would the quality of these compare to Wharfedale diamond 10.0 speakers for $199?

Energy is a shadow of its former self. They seem to be content on slapping their name on any cheap box these days, reusing the storied names and retelling the story of how API/Energy pioneered speaker design. There doesn't seem to be any actual engineering going on these days.

The original Energy speakers like the Connoisseur, 22, or first Veritas were world class. It hasn't been the same since engineers like Tchilinguirian or Welker left after the acquisition.

We have these and the matching surround speakers as part of our home theater setup. Have these since 6 years. We are very satisfied. If we had to buy again a new set of speakers, I would very highly consider buying the same speakers again. Sound is rich, even at very high volume. This is a very good price IMO.
