Cheap low profile PCIE 16 video card options?

SO I went and ordered 2 x 27" monitors from this thread lenovo-canada-lenovo-qhd-monitors-23-8- ... b-2443300/

I just realised my onboard video card has 1 VGA, 1 HDMI port and 0 DisplayPort.

So I need to by a cheap video card that supports either dual HDMI, dual DP, or 1 of each as the monitor only has DisplayPort and HDMi inputs.

If I install a video card in the PCIE slot, will the onboard HDMI/VGA outputs will stop working?

Does your current card support dual monitors?

The onboard supports 2 monitors (1 VGA and 1 HDMI)
I've added other monitors with an Insignia USB to VGA adapter.
I've sold those monitors prematurely.

The Lenovo monitor is QHD, and the adapter in the (I've looked at that as well) only goes to 1080p as per specifications on amazon.

Generally, onboard graphics will continue to work after installing a dedicated graphics card.

this is probably about as cheap as it can get without going to one of those awful gt210/710 cards that are like a million year old card they keep re-branding those would "work" i guess but are probably even lower performance then your onboard gpu.

has 1 dp 1 hdmi

Usually there is a setting in BIOS to set this.

Admittedly, a lot of systems that I work on are on the older side. I didn't think that this would be the norm now, if it indeed is.

Intel or AMD?

Intel iGPUS generally have a setting to allow to you multi-monitor with a dGPU.

If you're not gaming, you could probably get a USB3.X dock.

I think you should try to get a card that supports Displayport

QHD = 2560 x 1440

This old card should support it HD6450 it has Displayport @ 2560 x 1600 . https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/am ... d/15086688

I got 2 of these cards for $10. They are low profile even though the ad says full length... so may vary

5$ new? or used?

This could come in handy when diagnosing Ryzen machines.

It's $10 now. Click the link. It's refurbished, though.

I'm seeing 7$ shipping. Is that unavoidable?

It can be reduced as you add more.

4 of those come with a $16 shipping charge.

How is it a reduction if you need one card?

If you need more than one, or know someone else who may need one,...
