Cheapest PCR Test for international travel in the GTA

Good afternoon,
I need to go overseas in a few weeks and my destination requires a PCR test result 96 hours before arriving. I've been looking around and so far the cheapest test I've found is $140 (pre-tax) from Switch Health in Mississauga, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any cheaper spots. Thank you.

Nah

Only other one is if you do the free test at any if hospitals (book online). They just ask you why you want it.
Example: you got an alert on covid app, so u qualify for public test without fees. Pretty sure most are doing that or faking some excuse lol who wants to pay additional 200 bucks for a test when the swab costs a buck. Its another money making scam (requiring payment)

20 bucks would be reasonable but no they gotta charge 200+ bucks....

Book early bud. The travel test spots go fast!
If employer is sending they may reimburse

The problem with hospitals is that they might not give you the paperwork as required by the airlines. For example in BC you get the result online but it doesn't tell you when you took the test (date and time)

Advising caution on using the Covid app as a reason for no cost hospital CoVid testing instead of paying for travel required testing.

Hypothetically, in this example, you have a Covid Travel insurance Claim, there's documentation in your hospital Covid testing record that the App notified you of an exposure to a confirmed CoVid person. The App will likely have instructions such as "You are at risk to get CoVid due to an exposure, so get tested and determine if self isolation and monitoring for symptoms at home is needed".

If the Insurance company does an investigation and reviews the hospital CoVid test records, your App notification info may lead them to delay or decline your claim. At some point you'll have to admit to lying which doesn't sit well with insurance companies.

Best to include Covid testing as part of your travel budget.

If you use Switch Health use promo code:ETIHAD-SK
Don't need to show a ticket or be booked with Etihad. Cuts costs by about 20 CAD

Any update on the cheapest clinic BC?
I think the government/hospitals don't provide proper paper work for traveling

Switch and FH health seem to be the only ones that provide a 48 hours turnaround.

lifelabs does tests in my local shoppers and they offer a 24-48hr turnaround time as well but they charge a $60 premium over switch for some reason

you're right, sry. I meant "affordable" options. under 200. There are other private labs but they cost as much as shoppers or more

So can you use local hospital PCR test for international flights?

Would they accept the online results? Or a printout of the online results?

Only if they show you the required data airlines need to let you in.

Advising people to cheat rather than pay properly for the test. Not good. Just because you like to cheat doesn't mean "most" are doing that.

The swab test doesn't cost only a buck or even $20. Get educated with facts.

This is why we have so much abuse in the healthcare system. People think it's free when all taxpayers fund the healthcare system.

The reason is that extra $60 goes to shoppers drug mart for administering the test.

Those advising to cheat or use the public covid test sure but if you don't get the results in time, or you don't receive the proper documentation you'll lose more than what the test would have cost you.
