[CheapOair.ca] WOW air return YYZ to LGW $494 November

Just did a search on flight from YYZ to LGW ( london gatwick ) with cheapoair

WOW air comes up with $494 return Nov 27 to Dec 3rd with very short layovers in Iceland ( 1.5hrs)
Note WOW air you pay for everything but this is pretty good deal for a short stay in London - hard to find under $500

Isnt this the regular price for Wow Airlines? This to me is a cold deal, you got to pay the fare+ carry on luggage and checked luggage costs. If each person has 1 carry on and 1 checked luggage that brings the total to: $494+$63.28+$63.28+$86.06+$86.06= $792 CDN roundtrip!

CAD $63.28 for 1 carry on luggage each way!
CAD $86.06 for 1 checked in luggage each way!

You can fly Air Transit direct from Toronto to London for $631CDN including luggage allowance for those same dates.

For those that don't carry luggage, and don't mind flying discount, Primera Air is cheaper than WOW, with some dates pricing at $424 CDN roundtrip, and they also fly from Toronto to London direct:

Why do you need both carry on and checked baggage. Why not backpack + checked luggage? Seems pointless to pay for carry on.

Every time a good deal on a discount airline is posted, people complain that when they add six bags, a first-class upgrade, a three-course meal and six or seven drinks, it isn't comparable to a non-discount airline's prices.

If you want to fly light and uncomfortable, this is a cheap way to do it. Even after you purchase your drinks and meals (even water is not free on the Wow flights I've taken)
Except this isn't a good deal.... like I explained Primera Air is currently cheaper at $424 CDN roundtrip, which includes direct flights versus a layover each way in Iceland with WOW.

Also, you can fly from Toronto to London on a major airlines often enough for $500 CDN roundtrip, taxes included. Example: earlier this year there was a deal to fly on WestJet from Toronto to London for only $310 CDN roundtrip. Now that's a good deal!

The best part about YYZ is that there are clean water fountains everywhere to fill up a bottle at the departure gate...
Now leaving from LGW is brutal, no water fountains anywhere to bring onto the plane. lukewarm bathroom water is gross. Not RFD friendly.

Looks like Primera is no longer an option.

Yeah LOL... hopefully nobody bought tickets with Primera Air recently. For those that don't know, they went bankrupt yesterday.

To revive this thread, Iceland Air actually has some great fares right now, and according to reviews, they're a much better airline than budget airline Wow Air. I found fares for as low as $343 CDN Roundtrip taxes included, which include a free stopover in Iceland:

$343 CDN RT, taxes included:
Monday November 12: Toronto to London
Sunday November 18: London to Reykjavik Iceland
Wednesday November 21: Reykjavik Iceland to Toronto

***Fare includes a free carry on, but no checked in luggage

What is a good average fare from YUL or YOW to Iceland?

I'm looking for June 2019 and I saw flight to London and then back from Iceland for 650$ return with Air Canada. Checked luggage is included so this seems a pretty good price to me. Just not sure if something cheaper will come along...
