CHEESE..Kraft vs Black Diamond...cheddar

I found that BD would go mouldy fast....but Kraft never did...
Also found that Kraft ie. old ched was better tasting...texture...
BD was mediochre tasting texture ie. rubbery.

Anyone else notice the same thing?

I believe that older cheeses dont go mouldy as quickly.

Tastes all the same for me, I usually go for the no name stuff.

Black Diamond has some funky textures going on.

No name is OK, but buy "Old" to get "Medium".

Kraft is the best of the mass-marketers, but your local deli probably has much better stuff for you.

Does this mean there's more preservatives in Kraft cheese? That, or the inventory turnover is faster and they're not sitting on the shelves as long.

I used to like Armstrong the best, before it got bought by Saputo.. Now they don't even make the Armstrong cheese in Armstrong anymore! Weak :(

I haven't been able to tell a difference between BD and Kraft... but I prefer the really old cheddars. I don't know the brand, but this 5 year old cheddar they sell at Costco is awesome. :)

I believe it is Perron Cheddar...at least that what Costco sells in Montreal...It is from St-Prime in Quebec...and it is the same Cheddar that the Queen of England eats...(or so the rumour goes...)
