Don’t know anything about HSBC, and don’t care to, aside from them being picky.
Scotia is alright, I never had issues with them.
They also have a good travel card with a signup bonus

Those are the two better in-market chq + CC promos.

But, until Sunday, TD CT offers its historical peak on travel card WB's. FCT and API have unrivalled WB currently...ending this weekend.

For the extra kick, Meridian savings $100 WB with or without a referral is nice. Scoop all the easy bonuses and hit Achieva as well. This is assuming everyone on RFD already have Simplii and Tang. Afaik RBC has a chq account promo for an iPad, but not as good as cash and can't get monthly fee waiver.

you can get $200 for opening a chequing account with Simplii. Just need to set up a payroll deposit and receive 2 deposits that are $10 or more to receive the money. comes in 4 months

BMO has the $300 promo and if you can qualify for it their world elite MC is a good travel card.

I mentioned Simplii, but assume most or all RFDers who are enthusiasts of these offers would already have Simplii & Tangerine.

Good find. Didn't realize BMO had the offer running as well at the moment. That means at least three out of 5-6 of the big banks are currently running a welcome bonus on their flagship chq accounts (BMO, BNS, RBC). Not sure about TD CT or CIBC.
