Thank you!
I just finishe doing this an hour ago. You go through choosing your recurring payment payee / account number.

Then you add your Aeroplan #
Then you vertify your credit card # / details (it will do a soft test of $0.00)
Then you will see the total. And at this point you have the chance to enter a promo code (TSHIRT)
Then you hit submit

Promo code only works on recurring payment now? Was it on a bill payment before?

If I do a large first payment as reccuring and then cancel it will that work to get the fees waived?

that you used to successfully pay City of Calgary property taxes?

Only have a few more business days to get my Calgary property taxes paid and just hoping for confirmation so I don’t have issues with my payment not getting to the city on time.

TIA
Sorry I can't give specifics as I'm away from my files for the next few days and don't wanna use unsecured WiFi to look at Chexy. As I mentioned in original comment the Payeevname is important but the phone& address are just placeholders and WON'T be used to contact city. Just have to look legit.

Hints for you:

Mailing address is on back of property tax invoice from city

Phone:Google should be able to provide some kind of phone number(alternative to 311 maybe?)

Payee name would be in the dropdown under property tax:CALGARY (CITY) - PROPERTY TAX.

Finally got around to signing up.

Here's what I did:
1. Googled "Chexy referral" and found a random referral link. Clicked that and signed up.
2. Agreed to all their agreements.
3. Clicked add a Recurring Payment.
4. Found "City of Vancouver Property Tax" and added my folio number. Entered the amount that I need to pay.
5. Verified myself (by entering occupation and address).
6. Linked to my Scotiabank Momentum Visa card (4%!)
7. On the last step, added the "CANADIANTSHIRT" promo code.

If all goes well, then I plan to pause/cancel this recurring payment after the first payment goes thru since I only need to pay my property tax once a year. My property tax is ~$8000 this year so if all goes well, then that will net me $320 (+ 7000 Aeroplan points) 🥹

Promo code still works for me. Hope I get the points using an Aeroplan credit card in the promo period to pay LOL

How long did it take you to receive the Scotiabank Visa?
Wondering if there's still time to apply for the card and set-up a recurring payment for rent on July 1st.

Where are you located? For July 1, it would be super tight but depends where you are (possible if Eastern Canada, probably impossible if you're in Western Canada). If you want a July 1 payment, Chexy will charge your credit card on June 26 or 27, so you'd have to have the card by then.

Based on my experience, it took about 7 business days to receive the card in Alberta. The e-mail they send says 7-10 business days, so it was well within expectations. I applied for my card on February 27, 2024 (in the afternoon), with instant approval. I received the card in the mail on March 7, 2024.

Seems tight for July 1. But you should apply for the card anyway (it's FYF and there are $200 rebate promos) so that you can enjoy the the benefits of the card with and without Chexy.

So I got my son a life insurance policy and broker cannot tell me exact date the first payment is gona come out. Next months’ payments can be determined but not the first month. She just said some time next week which is weird. Does chexy have to know the exact due date for the PAD or it can be an estimate? So if I put due date 28 as an estimate and chexy charges my CC on 25th let’s say but insurance will take the $ out on 30th for example. What would happen?

From what I can tell, if funds are available a few days early, that should be fine. Having said that, it's probably better to ask on the Chexy subreddit, since moderators are Chexy staff/support, and could provide more accurate responses than most RFDers...

Chexy support already has answered a similar question:
"As long as the payee name, amount, and due dates are reasonably close, there shouldn't be any issues with the PAD matching."

I signed up Chevy end of April, and can confirm that the CANADIANTSHIRT code still works for my June recurring payment. (My first recurring payment) . As someone mentioned the code can only works during your first enrollment month, which is incorrect

FWIW, they consider your first month to start with your first payment, not when you created your login.

I did my first non recurring payment in April. I just set up my first recurring payment and used the promo code, as well as redeeming my referral dollar.
