Chinese Bakery Buns

Shit I have been eating chinese bakery buns for the past week (about 5-10 a day) and was wondering if anyone knew of some bakeries that do night time deals (they sell like a box of buns for $x.xx to clear the shelves at night)

I know t&t at woodbine and 16th avenue do it, but it's rare. They will bag about 6-7 buns and sell it for $5. They're usually $1-$2 each and if you buy 6 theres no tax

Also, if you know any bakeries that use less fat/ sugar in their buns that would be better, I usually eat a lot so something with a more average amount of fat/sugar would be preffered. The buns at t&t are low in sugar and fat. I usually get red bean, taro, custard, bbq pork buns.

(i stay away from the coconut cream and any with the pinneapple crust (bolo) or tuna (usually has mayo))

I could always just eat one less bun and it would most likely counter the extra calories of the other buns but i eat quite a bit...5000-6000 calories but i need to also eat other foods so I only really can get away with 2000-3000 calories of junk food.

Are you trying to bulk up? if so, you should be eating cleaner than this. Buns are not healthy on a normal diet, let alone on a bulking diet.

yeah they are great, to me i don't like the sticky fingers and the pinnnaple crust falling all over the place, also I prefer 'dry' buns, not soggy

i get them sometimes though, nothing beats pinneapple crust + red bean

This is sugary bread. It's why it tastes so good.

Buy ordinary bread buns and add your own filling

Go to this supermarket and see if the buns are still good

https://www.yelp.ca/biz/oriental-food-mart-toronto

The supermarket has a new name and is now called A1 Premium.

Sample Chinese bun recipe...loaded with 1/3 cup sugar, very high for a bread recipe http://thewoksoflife.com/2015/01/milk-bread-2/

Also includes whipping cream and eggs...this is a fatty bread too.

Whoa, I'm shocked. Shocked!

But for real though don't make it into habit of eating too much of that sweet sugary bread. Fine as guilty pleasure though.
