Choosing house and roof colors

Hey guys

We're building a house and I was wondering what the best way to superimpose colors on a house plan is. I have the drawings but need some roof color, and stone or brick colors to superimpose on the image because I find it hard to imagine the color combinations.

Is the best and quickest way via software?

Some of the building materials / siding companies have websites where you can load a photo of your house
(Imagine it would work with an elevation drawing too)
Or you can use one of their stock photos
(Just find something similar to your house)

Then you can mess around with different products
Siding, brick / stone, shingles, window frames, doors, shutters etc

I know that one website I have used in the last was Royal Building Products
They call their Design Tool ... HomePlay

Thanks for the tip! I thought I was in for aa ride to buy software then figure out how to use it ...

Just a quick question, I created an account, and noticed that they don't have stone in their design samples, only siding. Do they have brick or stone? I couldn't find these in their product inventory. Do you know any other company that might have this design option and brick/stone? Am I missing something? Thanks.

When we were building our house, we knew we wanted beige-grey colour palette but software only took us so far.

We went to a store to see samples, and the store gave us a few addresses with the colours we wanted that we could drive by to see. To complicate things farther, you could also mix different colours for a bit more unique look.

When it came time to choose the actual brick and stone style, seeing it on an actual house helped us decide.

Our stone was ordered from here:

And we went with Permacon. The stone pattern we picked was more of a classic look: https://permacon.ca/en/masonry/stones/lafitt-stone
