[CIBC] CIBC Aventura Gold - same promo as CIBC website + FYF if you apply and are approved at an airport branch only

CIBC currently has a promo their Aventura Gold card in their website. If you can find an airport branch, they should be able to offer you this promo with a First year free cherry on top.
I am sure they have offered this deal before, but I talked to a credit applicant specialist and they advised that the FYF is only available at the airport, and that they could not apply it neither.

here is the current CIBC promo

-upto 20000 bonus Aventura points (15000 +5000 on spend)
-$120 travel credit
-nexus application fee paid ($50)
-1200+ airport lounge access

Do you know if FYF is restricted to new CIBC credit card applicant? I recall in previous promos, they stated that people with any existing CIBC credit cards are ineligible.

Pearson has CIBC kiosks, but I've only ever seen them beyond security. Not sure about the promo though.

Any idea how long does it take once you apply on airport?
I applied on yyz airport day before, & called cibc today, they say, they don't have any application yet. It may take upto a week. Is this normal?

It's normal to wait one week for your application show up in the system, but be aware if it takes a longer time even if you receive a bunch of printed forms and documents from them. It happened to me once that the credit card application submitted at YYZ never showed up and I had to go back to YYZ and had my application submitted again.

Wife signed up and got approved online right away. Pretty great perks with no annual fee the first year ($120 travel credit + ~$200 travel points + Priority Pass+4 lounge passes + Nexus application fee - $50USD + travel insurance). Anyone know if there is a clawback of benefits if you cancel within the first year?

The online offer states first-year annual fee: $0 ("one-time annual fee rebate"). No stipulation in the terms and conditions that it needs to be at an airport. She's never banked with CIBC.
